well owner claim the warranty from u if anything happen to the ram after open the heat spreader?
i think best solution is if u wanna know,get a pair and do it at ur own risk.
opening heat speader will void the warranty of the ram and no promise that after open and put it back the heat spreader contact is as good as factory installation.

but he end up RMA it ,but not everyone as "pro" as Brian can afford such high performance ram.
how can he be so sure if the owner open up the heat spreader and still not able to void the warranty?
