Buy in will impose on client, if they previous T-2 they have sold the stock, but can't deliver the share (no share in their CDS), so they have to buy in at 10 tick above the closing price which called buy in, share will be transferred immediately as compared T+2 as current system applied.

I see...... thx for the explanation. I thought there is a fail-safe system when you can't sell more that the shares you have......

I mean, everytime I want to sell my shares, it will say that I have xxx amount of shares left, or zero amount left.....

Can this happen to anybody? hmm.gif

When you sell your share, they won't check your account or CDS whether you have the share or not.
It is cleint's responsible not to oversold

Nominee account, may be they can do it, but for ordinary account definitely no.

Btw, buy in is norm and everyday also got, especially for those high volume counters previously.

Buy in to cover.
As this is 10 tick higher than ordinary market price, surely lot of people want to sell to you, as they can buy back from open market at 10 tick lower.

If really nobody to sell to you and you are struggling to deliver the share, SC can charge you on short-selling.

tick - single price movement.

For 1.00-3.00, 0.01 is one tick
5-10, 0.05 is one tick.
