I have a question for you guys, does the SNR margin in your modem seem to be lower than before? I've noticed that since the slowdown started in March, my SNR margin has dipped to the 6.5dB region. Before, it was around 30dB.

QUOTE PETALING JAYA: The Information, Communications and Culture Minister must focus on providing better broadband service, says DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.
He said the roll-out of broadband in the country had been slow, and Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, in his new portfolio, should strive to be the “Minister for Broadband”,
Lim said he was shocked that Dr Rais had not uttered a single word about broadband in his 12 days of helming the ministry.
“It should be his most important portfolio especially at a time when there is so much broadband development internationally,” said Lim during a press conference yesterday.
He added that Malaysia would be crippled if there was no real minister for broadband.
On media freedom, Lim said Dr Rais should not try to bring back the old media controls which would be at odds with pledges made by the Najib administration.
Lim was referring to recent statements by Dr Rais which, amongst other things, had cautioned about legal actions against errant bloggers and stern warnings to the public to not abuse the Internet. SourceLol, even own politics start to complain about broadband development.

Be very careful when using free public proxy because many of these are monitoring the traffic and data going thru their port. So, don't ever use it for any confidential or banking related activities. Free public proxy are usually much slower, so if you really need a proxy connection to work like an VPN, should get it from a proper host.

speedtest.net is not accurate anymore, TM has all these servers mapped out and giving high priority bandwidth to these traffic. you'll see high speed to these speedtest.net server but in reality the international connection to anywhere else is crap. don't be fooled.

QUOTE Dear Sir,
We refer to your complaint to Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) dated 21 April 2009.
We acknowledge that your domestic throughput result to date is within the range of your subscribed package. Please be informed that your current subscription comes with dynamic IP allocations which also complies with the rules of a contended broadband service, hence the performance is always subject to the congestion of network traffic or possibilities of link outages. We hereby wish to confirm that, all other aspects on internet connectivity from provider's end has been verified and proven to be working in accordance with the Mandatory Standards for Quality of Services as per regulated by the Commission. However, we noted on your experience on accessing some of the intended destinations. As such, our international links had just been reinstated and we're expecting improvements of the browsing performance gradually throughout the week.
Please note that the fluctuation of International Link performance is subject to the inter-ISP connectivity, for both domestic and international; and is not solely dependant on the Local ISP. While all our policies are in place to ensure better service assurance domestically, it is very unlikely that any ISP would be able to guarantee an end-to-end performance to international sites. As we do recognize that our customer base has increased, we are making continuous efforts to upgrade our infrastructure to meet the requirement for higher bandwidth capacity. We look forward to enhance your browsing experience come the next quarter of the year.
We apologize for the inconveniences caused.
Regards, Harris Mohd.Sani Rapid Response Team Customer Interaction & Service Resolution Telekom Malaysia Berhad
This is the response we get. I had already expected such a reply. What a farce of a company this is...
