i upgraded my macbook pro 15" quad-core i7 memory to 16GB and works like charm. Apple said max is 8GB but actual memory is 16GB. extremely fast and smooth. maximise your memory to release the full potential of OS X Mountain Lion

QUOTE(D.Sync @ Oct 21 2012, 10:30 PM) May I ask which kind of memory stick did you purchase, is it from Corsair? I'm wondering whether early 2011 model support 16GB, and it seemed to be very picky for 16GB sticks. I've read success and fail side from it. i bought mushkin memory stick 8GBx2. one piece cost me RM170. according to mactracker, early 2011 actual RAM is 16GB.

QUOTE(D.Sync @ Oct 26 2012, 01:36 PM) I see. Have you run memory stress test on it for at least 24 hours? I have always wanted to upgrade but laid back by the incompatiblity issues that some are facing. yup i did everything. so far no problem. its been 2 months since i upgraded my ram.
