want to ask about hdd upgrade.. i have macbook unibody (model: MacBook5,1), can i upgrade it to any hard disk capacity like 500GB?

is it possible to upgrade the iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2014) memory ourself? Like the 27 inch, it has memory slot at the back screen. I tried to search, tutorial changing the memory mostly showing 2012-2013, is this the same method to do with Mid 2014 version?
