the most you can get for a 9.5mm drive is the WD 640GB HDD, about RM280 i think

there are some ppl who can manage to stuff in a 12.5mm 1TB on uMBPs though....

why 1TB that's even slower than 5400rpm for a startup drive...? You can get a 500GB 7200rpm drive as startup and get a 1TB as external for storage...

comparing 7k500 and western digital cavier blue 500gb 5400rpm which one is better? a 7200rpm hdd will causes much more noise and vibration? in term of performance? which one is better?

Some of us here are having problem with the WD Caviar Blue 500gb such as clicking sound of the head parking. Me myself solve it using HDAPM (http://mckinlay.net.nz/hdapm/) but I'm looking to replace this HD to the Hitachi one.

ya, im worry about the click noise oso..
so, anyone that using 7k500, do it hv the click noise? how about the vibration? and battery life?

Not on sale yet in Malaysia, but I expect no lesser than RM 500... US retailers selling then for as low as $130...

ok, so the price difference is not that huge compare with typical HDD..
after reading some of the review, the performance is definitely faster. battery life is good oso.

might consider to get this then, but still not yet available in bolehland huh?

I also looking forward for the hybrid HDD but its quite expensive...
