Hi to all.

I was referred to this link to post my Macbook problem. Hopefully some sifu out here can assist me.

For the past 6 months. My Macbook's USB ports have been experiencing cut-off when I plug in my mouse and external HDD. The USB ports have loosen/widen to an extent that by merely touching the USB cables, it will cause the connection to cut off.

I have asked the local Mac distributor to quote for the repair of the USB ports. The quoted price is way too expensive. RM 1800++ (with exchange of faulty logic board). RM 4000++ (without exchange of faulty logic board). I was informed that the USB connector are built in together on the logic board.

I have also tried fiddling with the USB connectors inerts, the spring like plate that (in my opinion) secures the USB inserts in place. It seems to help but after a while, everything loosens up again.

Can anyone advise if I can get this repaired or service at any computer shops in KL?

Thank you.
