Confidence bordering on arrogance. If the kid can control it, he has some potential.
For some reason I imagine Macheda-Benzema as our future star striker pair. But that's just my muppetry... |

I like the reckless abandon style of play coming from us, as long as we keep up the discipline. Turn all that frustration to positive energy which brought us the result vs Villa; if we don't we simply self-destruct like in the recent matches.
Scholes, Rooney and Vida would hopefully be all fired up and raring to go by now. Only Rio's injuries and our ongoing Right-back issues are a concern. Plus if Naldo, Teveth and Evra return to full form, we should have more than enough for crunch time @ season's end. With Anderson out and Giggs having done a full match it's not the best scenario for 433. I fancy 442 with Naldo and Evra on left, Park and JOS on right. Sch+Carr in CM. Up front is a puzzle .... who will partner Rooney? Tevez is probably too tired also, despite needing a run of games to get back into form. Might be time to throw the young strikers into the mix... Welbeck then Macheda.

What's with this injury plague that hits us towards end of the season.... targeted on defenders especially.... Curse of Saha?

Rafael in RB should be with Park on RW. Naldo and Evra on left. Dunno whether it's wise to let Carrick play in this one... might make him regain form, or make him even more tired.

What's all this talk abt getting a new DM? OH is the obvious choice let it be in 433 or 442. The flexibility he offers on the right has been sorely missed this season. Only if he proves to be Saha II despite his recent treatment shd we reconsider other options. Which may already exist in our squad.

Certain improvements among Carr and Scholes, but overall an embarrassing performance.
I guess our central def would do better if only the fullbacks stop giving them heart attacks. Park being off form doesn't help the flanks either. Riding on luck and being saved by 17 year olds. Fergie's face was like thunder in 2nd half... 3 points in the end... but the rot is still there. |

Since the loss vs PooL I'm still puzzled as to what the reason for the loss of form was... and still is. On paper we still have one of the "best squads in the world" but what's going on on-pitch is almost completely opposite.
It's as though all those goals that our "record breaking defence" stopped from conceding... suddenly started conceding as though we're supposed to pay off some f__king debt. Or did everybody take some football version of anti-vi@gra...? This post has been edited by ming2020: Apr 12 2009, 12:24 AM |

QUOTE(Sheep319 @ Apr 12 2009, 08:53 AM) Malunyer. Haven't paid for Tevez yet ... but gawd knows how much was his loan so far...Tevez and Berbatov bought for a whopping I-have-no-idea-how-much GBP. And our butts was once again saved by Macheda, the wonderkid youngster, after just being substituted. He's the next Ole I guess. SUPERSUB-AH! EDIT: In other news. MANUCHO SCORES!!!! Speaking of ex-Utd, Silvest bagged 1 for the Gooners.. random thought.. not a big youth follower.. but a future squad might look like.. Foster Rafael - Chester - Evans - Fabio Ljajic - Petrucci - Anderson - Tosic Welbeck - Macheda |

Would prefer Brwn to be on RB in place of Rafael. Stability is much welcomed in our backline, even at the sacrifice of some attacking qualities. Let's hope our championship-winning backline (Evra-Rio-Vidic-Brwn) returns to form in time for Porto.
Looking into next season, if/when Harg is back in business, him on right wing (with Naldo on left) shd make it easier to introduce Rafael more into 1st team action. Fabio could get similar protection on left with Park on the wing. As for Neville, well.... |
