QUOTE(Hevrn @ Apr 6 2009, 01:04 AM)
f***ing massive win this. Got a message from a Pool fan last nite saying they had the mark of champions. Wtf was that then? Macheda. Remember the name. I can imagine the number of Youtube views on the kids will soar. What a way to stop the rot. This would prob have a bigger effect on the lads then a 1-0 win. The belief is back. Once Ronnie's shot went in I knew we were gonna take it home. Wicked.

Capped off a terrific weekend for me. Got smashed at Speedzone, just back from Jamiroquai n now this. Awesome
*
The most important things to take from the game:

- We won without Berbatov, Rooney, Scholes, Vidic, Ferdinand
- We are back on top of the league
- We stopped the losing run of 2 games
- We are well rested (some of them) for Porto!

Macheda, f***, he deserves a start for the next game for that goal! Title-winning goal.

Yeah our def was no match for Carew, Agbonlahor n Young. But good thing is Vida n Rio should be back to take over. So, nice to take the points despite our shortcomings.
*
We played with our second choice right back, third and fifth choice centre backs and still won the game. Be content!!!!! vmad.gif

Im chuffed, believe me I am. Was obvious though that our def was inferior to Villa's attacks. Poor marking for both the goals.
*
Was also aided by the fact we were so shit in holding the ball and giving the ball away up top. Mind you, not only the defense was inferior, the lack of Rooney and Berbatov aided to that as well. The two keep the ball well enough that we do not run back in sixes and seven every 30 seconds.

Exactly. He was asked a question but deviated to take the piss on Sir Alex. Ducking hell.

Exactly. For a player having a poor season (according to the blinkered media), 20 goals so far is a good return

Added on April 6, 2009, 7:42 pmLove him or hate him, his form is crucial this time of the season.
*
1) It's 20 goals in April (could easily be 30 come May)
2) He's EPL top scorer ahead of Anelka, ain't he?

I don't know what to think of Liverpool's result to be honest. On one hand, I am loving it since I slept after the Ivanovic goal thinking it'd end 1-1 or something and Liverpool losing can never be a bad thing and hopefully, it'd have the same psychological effect the 1-4 thumping (yes, I admitted it, THUMPING) gave us BUT the result also means they'll focus more on Blackburn than Chelsea? sad.gif

QUOTE(Fyrekat @ Apr 9 2009, 04:23 PM)
I for one am hoping it will be that way.

Yes, the defeat hurts and no one wants their team to exit from the CL. I do feel though that the thumping we got means we realistically only have the league to try for now. If it was 1 - 1 or 1 - 2, the possibility of making it through is a lot higher so the team would definitely have both competitions in mind. Conceding 3 away goals though just makes the tie almost all sewn up for Chelsea so why not just concentrate on the league?

I'm not advocating giving up of course, but if I had to prioritize given the circumstances, the league would be it.

Your mountain is only a B-cup la, ours is like E-cup!

Our mountain is actually D-cup lah. One defeat and you're E-cup? doh.gif Our babe has been reaching puberty at an accelerating rate with the cup growing bigger and bigger with each goal conceded.

Happy Birthday, Hevrn.

On a second note, it's not time for Macheda to impress, it's Nani's time. The bugger needs to get his act together. Park and Nani on the flanks and Ronaldo and Tevez up top.

Problem is that we have been saying that [about Nani] for quite some time yet we do not see any improvement from him so far!  rclxub.gif
*
Problem is that it is SAF's fault for that. How the hell do you improve if you aren't given matches? There's only so much you can do in training. Of course, I'm an armchair critic but I would never have had Fletcher and Park on the flanks against Porto. Too many canvas carriers and too few painters. Play Park against Barcelona but Porto?

Wow, since 5 am nobody posted?

Lineup for Sunderland

VDS
Neville Vida Oshea Evra
Fletcher  Giggs Carrick Park
Ronaldo  Tevez

Fletcher to help Neville track back. Scholes rested after Porto.
*
VDS
Ecklersley Vida Oshea Evra
Park Fletcher Carrick Nani
Ronaldo Tevez

Eckersley because it's Sunderland and Neville has played 180 minutes in too short space a time. Park to protect Eckersley and Nani to play because he's Nani.
