Yeah, disappointed with Carrick. He has been in poor form since our home game against Inter.

I disagree that Evra is below par. Yes, the crosses that resulted Villa and Porto goals were from his side. But the LW has to be faulted as well for not helping him, for not tracked back. On 2 occasions, Evans tried to help Evra and left the penalty box short of defenders. Easy chance for Villa and Porto strikers. If you notice, Evra went to the central midfield a few times spraying passes around. What should be the task of Carrick and Scholes.

I think last night match doesn't suit Carrick + Scholes combo. The Porto players have pace and play fast football and our midfield combo really lack behind.

Fletcher is one of the better player last night. Should start alongside Giggs in central midfield this weekend.

Chelsea is a different team with Essien around.

I bet Sunderland will cross every ball they can to their strikers to head. Evans could miss this game and Rio, Rafael and Brown are not ready to play I think we will have a hard time if Carrick still fail to re-capture his true form. I think he should be benched and play Fletcher + Giggs instead.

We should avoid extra time if possible. We have many games to play.
Our record shows that we were knocked out when we played first leg at home.

Just notice that Liverpool will play Blackburn earlier than our game. So, we will play catch up again.
