I'm thinking of going to KL to study for my professional module. I live in East Malaysia.

I was wondering, could anyone kindly enlighten me on the study environment at KSA? I.e., class size, any textbooks like BPP provided, clean toilets, how many lectures per week? Any prizewinners being produced from there?

Is KSA somewhere near Petaling Street? I'm not familiar with that area.

Thanks

KSA is near to Petaling Street. You can't expect good study environment if you prefer study in any KL college.

KSA just like SPM tuition centre. They only provide limited study environment like small library. Some paper like Philip Woo F8 & P1, they try to accept more than 250 students in one class.

Lecturer hours - All KSA lecturers are more on part time basis, so normally every week got 3 hours class, but some time in weekend will got 6 hours extra class.

KSA got prize winner but not so much as compare to Sunway.

Ha Ha, talk so much bad thing about KSA, I think you already worried lo. Now turn to advantage la. Eventhough KSA fail to provide good study environment, but the main advantage is CHEAP TUITION FEES WITH STRONG TEAM OF QUALITY LECTURER.

For me, I'm a part time student for all 14 ACCA papers, so good study environemt or college life won't be so important la. So I more put priority to experience lecturer. Experience lecturer can't gurantee student become prize winner, but can help you to turn your weekness to strength. With experience lecturer, we will the examiner requirement and good exam technique to earn each marks.

For study materials, KSA normally give FTC manual + lectuer notes + past year Q & A.

Regarding Prize winner, I don't think it is so important. Please remember good student go to where also can study.

Familiar with KSA or not? Ha Ha, don't worry la bcos KSA or other KL college also in town. You can take LRT without any traffic jam when go to class.

Ha Ha, that's no perfect in all college, so depend on what you want la!

Thanks for the info. In a small town here, a class with 60 students is already considered SO SO HUGE!! Let's not talk about 250, our eyes will pop out!

Man, sucks living in ulu East Msia! So far away from everything, not happening and go everywhere needs air ticket!

Finding a long lasting friendship will always become an issue studying in KL. Its almost impossible to study under a same lecturer, same centre, same paper for every session. Some students are already working (most are at advance level) & held from different states.

I'm thinking of going to KL/PJ to study for my professional module. I live in East Malaysia.

Wow, I never knew the KL people culture of switching from centre to centre. Here, everybody just sticks with the same college till they're done with. Never cross their mind of switching once registered with the college since CAT or ACCA.

So, if I'm going to West Malaysia, I'm in a dilemma. If I go according to the best lecturers around, where the heck am I gonna stay? Somewhere in between?! Yikes! *headache*

thanks for all the info. will consider whether to come over next year

Only 1 solution, save 10 pages at a time. So yeah, tens of batches to do. Took me very little time only, thanks to lovely ACCA, FRIGGIN' 6 HOURS TO DOWNLOAD 123 PAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So ya, you bet I spammed on their comment box cussing their 'high speed'.

I'm not familiar with PJ area but if you're talking about KL area, the colleges are accessible by LRT as mentioned by Carlosandy. As long as you stay somewhere near the LRT station, you shouldn't have any problem accessing either colleges. smile.gif

Actually there is a solution, you use rapidshare remote upload feature to upload the PDF file, then download using RS super fast server.

If you post the link here I'll help you

Normally majority of college in Msia only offer malaysia variant for law and tax paper. FYI, I'm not sure about law, but there is NO international variant for tax paper in ACCA exam.

For tax & law you should study for variant in which country you will practice. No point learning UK stuff but can never apply in MYS & vice-versa.
I dont think there will be anyone teaching UK variant in MYS. However when comes to stream, its always better to opt for International stream bcos irregradless of which stream you choose, it will end up being marked by a UK marker.

Can anyone help me with this question? I have discussed with my friend about this but we couldn't come to a conclusion.

Peter was given a loan of RM500k by ABC to finance his expenses. The loan was taken by ABC from Hong Leong Bank where interest of RM60k. Peter needs to pay half of the interest cost. Peter used RM300k to finance acquisition of his house, which is the second house acquired during this year. He used RM160k to purchase a car. The balance of the cash is used to finance his overseas holiday. How much is the taxable benefits for Peter?

I cannot determine how much is the aggregate loan balance and the principal amount. Help please!!!

Taxable benefit should be interest subsidized by the company which should be half of the interest cost borned by the employer.

Added on August 15, 2009, 3:39 pmGuys, I also want to ask.

As for OBU, when I logged in into myACCA, it states that I am not enrolled into OBU but I have already indicated that I want to enroll into OBU since my CAT days.

I am currently doing F7 8 9, and my results for F4 5 6 will be out this coming Monday, by when should I enroll for OBU ?

Wait until you get results for all fundamental papers first.
Then average the 6 paper marks.
If you are within range of 2nd upper or first class then consider.

So right now I don't bother about anything first?

Btw, is there any possibility that one can miss the chance to do OBU ?

Thanks
