It doesn't behave that way apparently. Even on my old N95, having 3G turned on would drain more battery. What you can do is full charge the phone, on the first time turn on 3G whole day to see how long it last and the next time, turn it off.
I've tried it out and having 3G on would make me charge my phone every night without fail or I would run out of battery the next day
Ya, i face the same situation as his mention. It will quite drain my battery when i keep on my 3G. I have been do some testing on my iphone and i find out if i turn off the 3G service, the battery life (after the full charge) will stand for at lease 2days even i always use the iphone for listen music or make the call.I've tried it out and having 3G on would make me charge my phone every night without fail or I would run out of battery the next day
