mine also like that ... but somehow it never happens indoor, only happens outdoor or in car ... seems like sunlight is the source to this behaviour (at least for my case lar)

i'm guessing it had something to do with the proximity sensor ...

use your own email lar of course ...

all communication will be done via email

Just tried Mcguider Sygic 7.71 ... it is actually VERY nice and refreshing!!!

The interface, map browsing , user friendliness most ON PAR if not better than GARMIN.

The bad about it is the MAP, not as comprehensive as MFM maps. Gonna play more on this software and see what else i'm missing compared to Garmin.

PS: anyone using Sygic can tell me how can we skip the CITY when searching for address ?? TIA.

sigh, just found a ROUTING bug in Sygic 7.71 .... not sure if it is my copy only or theres really some wacko logic in Sygic routing ..

anyone with sygic installed mind do a little test to verify this problem ??

1) start = Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 3, Taman Tun , KL
2) destination = LDP Penchala Toll

Expected result should be somewhere about 6-8km based on google route
Actual result = routing never complete and Sygic hang there after analyzing over 1million route hahaha

test 2 :
1) start = Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 3, Taman Tun , KL
2) destination = caltex at LDP after Penchala Toll from 1U direction

Expected result should be somewhere 8-10km based on google route
Actual result = route about 22km +- because its using other further roads

Avoidance setting:
1) Do not Avoid toll
2) Faster time/shorter distance

However, it could be a map problem after all cuz Routing is based on the software (sygic) and map.

As of now, I've only found the method to convert Garmin POI ( gpi ) files in to sygic POI file ...

bro,

to convert gpi to sygic upi, you need 2 software ...

1) GPSbabel
2) Sygic POI TOOL

The process flow is like this:

1) via GPSbabel convert garmin gpi files to tomtom ov2 format
2) once u got the POIs in ov2 format, you can use the POI Converter to convert it into Sygic format (upi)

once u got the upi file, just put it in your MYS folder.

pretty troublesome and not very useful as i don't have many garmin gpi files only have speed trap i think ..


still actively looking on better ways to make use of Sygic

hmmm, something strange happened to my tube just now ...

it AUTO off for dunno what reason...

at 9am, i'm sure it was still alive cause I just receive a sad sms from my friend.

about 9:45am when i wanted to check out something from the phone there were no response from the unlock key. Then tried few other things and still no response. So confirmed it had turned OFF.

Turn it back ON, and i was greeted by the Date & Time setting screen, so i thought the phone some how soft/hard reset itself. Then after keying in the Date & Time , everything seems normal and doesn't seems like being reset.

Anybody have met this before, do share with me your experience on this problem ? I'm suspecting this could have something to do with internal batteries failure if our tube indeed have 1 ...

Anyway, will keep monitoring and keep u guys posted if found anything interesting.

this is the first time its happening to me and i'm on v20 as well. Have done that hard reset thingy, if fact it was the first thing i did right after upgrading from v11 so that i can avoid many tiny tiny problems like gateway or cert error issues.

now that i recalled, i tried to do a backup via pc suite 1 2 days ago for the first time(anticipating new fw haha), previously all backup was done on phone itself .. i'm not sure whether its related or not, but before this my tube never give me surprises like this During the backup to pc via pc suite, it completed with warning saying that there are failed item so i checked the log. In the log, there is a title row for failed items but below it were empty, so still not sure what wasn't backed up. Then after disconnecting from pc suite, i checked my tube and found out that contacts and certain installed software are not working. So i restarted the tube and everything seems back to normal until this morning.

hmmm, i really wonder if these 2 are connected somehow ...

i tried to do the backup a few time but every time it complains the backup failed. So you are saying u tried many times and it will eventually succeed ?

may i know how many attempt you tried before its finally a success ?? hahaha

I also notice that if the backup fails, the sync will not work as well during the same session But on the next session the sync will complete without problem if i did not perform the backup
