or mayb u running garmin XT in landscape mode. AFAIK, the landscape mode still bug, it will jump out when navigation, so use portrait mode instead.
It is far more stable.

backup all ur data and do a soft reset first. It is noted at front page.

They are 2 different things

certificate error : you need to sign the application, google around to get ur dev cert so that u can sign freely
certificate expired : backdate ur phone date or soft reset phone

Answer to your question : YES , enable GPRS charges for function WELL. without the GPRS can function too but without the "well"

Try diamond twister, it is similar game like bejewel
with storyline and many many more

NO, all data & installed application will retain

just remember to backup ur data to memory card in case of any accident

so far no ppl complaining any firmware update problem regarding garmin, wish u are not the unlucky one.
dont worry so much about updating, it is worth it !

fully functional at 5800, just use the latest GMXT 5.00.40
and there is no free version of GMXT, u need to buy it ..
