Phone's sound quality cant be compared to dedicated music player.

I tried N95 and N82 music capability using Mylar X3 and KSC75. It's acceptable. But when i tried those highend IEM on phone, it sound like crap. Tested using Westone UM2, Ultimateears triple.fi10pro, Sennheiser IE8 and Audo Technica CK100. They will reveal all the deficiencies and weaknesses of the phone sound quality. Hiss, noise, thin sounding, lacking dynamic and really bad stereo separation. Actually UM2 still acceptable as it's not that revealing and it's a fun sounding IEM.

So if u wanna use XpressMusic or any other music phones as main music player, dont pair it with highend IEM.

5800xm is dedicated music device, but it's still a phone.
for the quality is good enough for a phone and win those pirated/no quality mp3.

if wanna compare with ipod, or other branded devices, for sure there is the different.
