lol, on a business trip?

Say, how much should I expect to pay for a return ticket to Tokyo? Am planning to go there for a 10 day holiday this Sunday, but MAS tickets are like RM2400 (after tax). Was wondering if I can get cheaper tickets somewhere else.

edit:
read the FAQ on the first post:
what is this visa thing, and the need to have a minimum of RM6k in your bank? Last I went to Bangkok (2 months ago) for a short holiday, none of this applies. Just show passport at airport for a stamp, and I'm free to go wherever I want.

Flying from KLIA, I think cheapest we've come across is with JAL at  RM1350 for a return ticket. But this is like promo rate and since you're planning to travel this Sunday, chances are there are only normal ticket price available. RM2400 is about the average for a normal ticket price. You might want to check out Singapore Airlines and compare prices... if it's substantially cheaper - then flying from Changi is worth it even if you work in the AirAsia ticket cost.

You need a visa to enter into Japan as compared to Bangkok where there's no such requirement. The RM6k in the bank is to prove that you have the financial means to cover for your traveling cost as in the past, there were too many cases of ppl jump aeroplane.
Please refer to this site - http://www.my.emb-japan.go.jp/English/visit.html#visa

Thanks man, will check out the rates for Singapore Airlines.

So how does the 3 day visa approval thing works? Just go to the airport with the documents? Or apply the visa at the Japanese embassy first before going for the trip? Sure sounds like serious business. This would be my second trip out of the country, actually.

Oh well, guess I'll call it off then (damn, I should've read up on all this months back, when I was still interning and had some free time at work).

Will travel later with a bunch of friends next year :3

Thanks for the replies! biggrin.gif
