I was wondering which GTA do you think is the best so far. I've played all the GTAs except for Chinatown Wars (coz I don't own an NDS).
I'm undecided between San Andreas and GTAIV.

San Andreas was cool because:
1-can edit the main character expansively (anyway you like)
2-Huge huge map
3-Got BMX
4-And the gang territorial concept was good

GTAIV was cool because:
1-NIKO BELLIC!!!! lovable Mo'fo' with an attitude
2-Can surf the net and got cellphone
3-Maintaining relationship was tedious and fun
4-Gripping storyline

mmm.. i think all the gta series best... the game play evolve from time to time.. so i still think all of it best.. hahaha... even the first one is oso best.. hahaha

imo san andreas ... you can literallys steal, boat, car,airplane and best of all , your character won`t drown when he falls by accident into the river/sea. ,and skydiving,minus parachute

gta: SA hands down is the best for me.

why?
1. the storyline. nothing can go wrong when you have Samuel L Jackson as one of your voice actor.

2. the concept. the game is HUGE. i did got sidetracked for MONTHS before continuing the story.

3. the soundtrack!! it's awesome! 90's gangsta rap, G-funk, alternative/rock. everything is in there.

1st GTA .. u can roll over the group of people wearing yellow shirt if not mistaken . huhuhuhu

To me, GTA2 will always have a special place in my heart. That was the first GTA I played and it was on the PSOne. Then I worked my way into playing all the previous GTAs before that.

2.Agreed. It took me almost half a year to get 100% completion (including graffiti, taking photos, stunt jumps etc.)

3.Soundtrack-wise, I think Vice City Stories takes the cake. Maybe coz I enjoy 80's music

to me its gta3, because it brought the series into the next gen at the time, and it was simply amazing. i only played gta 3 for most of 2002....like no joke, other games all i lazy to play except that. i love 4 alot too, but it doesnt have that charm.

yeah i missed out on SA, cause i didnt like it too much, i still prefer gta3. THAT was amazing.

one thing bout SA, got alot of extra and cool feats and its really huge la the game. but i hope they do release SA on the next gens soon.

can modify car .that was cool,a bmx.and the city was really huge,and i like gta sa more than gta4 because there was a bit like jungle place.i remembered gta3 and vice city map,but gta4 and gta sa urm..its too large,can't remember,gta chinatown also very2 big

best music - gta vice city,gta sa also not bad

best gameplay - gta chinatown wars?cn do many many things such as hot-wiring car,

gta4 is real and superb graphic but overall.gta san andreas is the best !!

GTA3 was OK, but looking back I don't like the main character (Claude), he doesnt have an attitude or the slightest moral conscience like Tommy Vercetti, CJ or Niko.

Yeah, it would be fun to have them remake SA for the current gen console, but I think that is highly unlikely. What we can hope is that they make a new GTA with SA's great features

yeah.. the first one can be said the best at that time.. it's a revolutionary in gaming scene. it's sick and addicted so hard ! i played it everyday.. day n night.. hahahaha.. the way they do it, it's awesome !

I guess for me both SA and Vice City is my most memorable. SA was due to the amount of things you could do and Vice City has a very special atmosphere to it, most probably because it was based in Miami.

Vice City,because of the nostalgic memories-the best radio station(can pawn all gta) remember the interview with ex-GI moviestar that end up with the moviestar shoot dead the radio DJ-Got RPG in weapon line-up

Yes, Vice City was special because it was set in a Miami-like city. I remember doing drive by shooting along the beaches To me Vice City has that Scarface feel to it. (read:Tommy Vercetti)

All GTA games are definitely great, but if you are asking for the best,
I'd go with SA.
GTA4 are way.. way.. too realistic, the graphics and story are great! but somehow, causing chaos and mayhem in the city feels.. a bit.. boring.
In SA, I'd always parachute down from the highest building, it's so Fun'tertaining.. ngahahaha
Of course, the gang war system! I'd invade the other gang territory, I'd conquer it, and just wait for them to invade.
Well, I never did gave any attention toward the radio stuff, that crappy stuff always blurt out both crappy argument and crappy songs.
CJ or Niko Bellic? Niko ftw.

Right! I remember the parachute thing. Waaayy cool. Lets not forget the jetpack. But I kinda miss playing 2 player mode with my friend and wreak havoc upon the city, where I would drive and my friend would shoot. Ahh, the good old days.
And yes, definitely Niko Bellic

honestly niko is great with all the cheesy move in the strip club.. lol.. all in all i love carl since can really dress him up the way i want it to be.. and not to mention the gameplay is hell lot longer and the map is way way bigger... i can hijack lots of vehicle.. even a plane and jet pack damm If there is next gta i would love to see something like SA ...

yeah.. me also..would love to see next GTA is like GTA SA. hijack everything !

plus i can buy properties in GTA:SA.
i know in VC also got, but seriously, i hate the 80's. too cheesy for me with all those Miami Vice reference. plus most 80's music sucks (except for metal and glam rock).

Niko might be badass, it's because he's that way (ex army + merc).

no mention about johnny boy of GTA lost and damned? he's such a badass..but the fun was about to start when suddenly the story ended abruptly..his weapons are the bomb!! xpecially the grenade launcher..LOST FOREVER!!

imo GTA:L&D was like playing GTA4 with the 'improved drving' cheats on.

personally i like VC the most. LOVEFIST FTW!

GTA IV is the BEST!!! Niko Bellic is a funny guy.... LOL... He has a huge sense of sarcasm... The storyline rocks and you can actually make calls using the cellphone.. Including prank calls (Calling 911)... xD

Honestly I had fun killing people in all GTAs, but GTA4 has up-to-date & improved physics engine and graphics, so I enjoyed that a lot.

GTA 4 has it all...

newer ones are better right...????


but i think the gta IV is better at some parts and san andreas are better at some parts tooo....

I hope the next GTA will have Destruction Physics (blow up the cities, ground)

Also I want to be able to roam a whole country,

most realistic crowd AI,

seamless indoor to outdoor integration,

extended sky limit (like Flight Sim X can fly to ionosphere)

combine Cry Engine 3, Dunia Engine, Geo Mod 2, Euphoria Engine 2, Overgrowth Engine, Havok

super cars

flying

huge 500ft monsters (in MODs of course)

and last but not least undersea exploration.....

that will be the best GTA ever

i'm planning to buy GTA:Episoder from liberty city...is it worth the money?

if you have played RDR, you will start to hate GTA4 targeting & health system.

but in terms of money/hour ratio, the 2 episodes are all right.
be warned, there are exposed male parts in Gay Tony.

i played rdr but not long enuff...missed the bike, car n police chase...hehe...

One reason i hate GTA IV - the mobile phone.

Vice city is probably my favourite.. because of the awesome soundtrack from my youth.

I'm really caught between SA and GTA 4.
GTA 4 has one of the best stories imo(next to Dante's Inferno).
Gameplay-wise I sorta think SA is really really good, seeing as San Andreas itself is just huge, and there's so much to do if you wanna get all the hidden packages or claim all the ganglands etc(?)

for me i miss playing in GTA II. i was a kid and i cant really recall how it goes.
and for now my favorite is GTA IV, and SA too yeah.

oh one more, Saints Row. who play that title?
i think it slightly good than GTA IV, but its just the graphic that i dont really like. but the gameplay is kinda fun. more realistic in real world i think.

but GTA still FTW.

Yes... GTA San Andres is the best GTA game ever...

Can edit character personality and even can have burger to replenish health or getting fat.. Not forgetting for the hair and tattoo..
Why they dont want to remake or create GTA:SA2???
Love that GTA game.. Make a sequel rather than add expansion for GTA4.
