why would u wanna connect ur guitar to ur mfx to ur amp then to ur headphone? it would sound way better to just connect from ur mfx straight to ur headphone.....especially if ur mfx has amp modeling....the gt8 has amp modeling, POD has amp modeling....i use headphones too since my neighbour complaints.....but sometimes i just have to blast my amp and rock my sox off.......hhahahahaha \m/

not quite agree with iriz.
the reason is because, mfx with amp modelling already have pre amp and power amp in it.
if it goes to an amplifier, it would go to the power amp of the amp which has it's own characteristic and it would alter the sound shape once again.
that is why the sound is much better on the headphone because it dont have power amp.

i heard that the best way of using an mfx is to go to DI box then go to PA system biggrin.gif so u'll get ur sound as close as u hear it on the headphone

First off, when playing live, don't try to get the sound that you normally do while practicing at home... Get a sound that actually can be heard by yourself and the audience... Your low level sound would most likely sound very different at loud volumes, ie as the volume increases, your signal gets more trebly... If you like scooped mids when practicing, chances are you won't be able to cut through the mix live... Normally, I'll bump up the mids alittle and tame the bass...

By the way, I'm using M-audio IE-30 in-ears...

not to disagree, just a tad confused.

amps get their characteristics from the circuitry and speakers, right? if we're going guitar-->mfx-->amp-->headphone, will the amp characteristics even matters? you're not using the amps speaker anyway.
