*sigh* My Dell 1420 with the 8400 M GS died last week. IDK if it's graphics card issue or the screen is faulty, or both. The problems started with "driver has stopped responding" messages and all that, blue screens, then pixellated graphics, funny colored lines and then finally only black screen, backlight working but nothing coming up, not even the logo screen at startup. Plugged into external monitor and everything looks fine, so my dad's technician friend said to send to Dell for screen replacement (which will cost a bomb since the warranty is over, ) but I still suspect it's the graphics card though.
