basically the whole of GeForce 8M (except for 8800M) are all screwed up...
some users og MacBook Pro 17" with 9600M Gt also report to ve problem... as for my case, the staff at BenQ says they ve a new motherboard, i'll juz cross my fingers and see.. Nvidia did provide a solution... first by compensating the OEMs, then now they ve (iirc) a new revision of 8600M GT with the old material used instead...
but seriously, they never seem to ve a solution for low end card users... |

8400M G/GS/GT and 8600M GS users... these use the G86M GPU, and Nvidia dun seem to care abt these...
perhaps they think that users of these cards dun game as much as those who use 8600M GT and 8700M GT (ie G84M)... |

QUOTE(wayfeel @ Mar 31 2009, 09:19 PM) @ astria 1 site i like is www.guru3d.com... pretty unbiased and comprehensive review on CPU and GPU...any site u can rekomen so as to understand more on amd? especially its 512mb cache how it works as opposed to intel's 3mb cache? i no the amd has larger L1 cache but overall performance. i still dubious of amd n their ever laggin behind intel. forgot which site that tested the phenom was slower in almost all aspect even tested agst E8n00 a dual core, what more intel's quad i donmind the S42 but at almost 3.6k ...not a chance for me lol actually with Phenom II, AMD is making a pretty good come back... the Phenom II x4 performance can finally match up with C2Q Q9050, and in some areas, Core i7 as well...and also it's high oc ability and cheap mobo, AMD seems to be a better choice today... |

for mobile, i suggest u stick with Intel for now... in terms of both performance and power consumption... Intel has a big advantage in the laptop market...
turion x2 ultra is still based on the old K8 architecture (aka Athlon x2), so it still loses out when compared against Core 2... |
