I bought a promo ticket to Melbourne to attend my sister convocation but the date has changed anyone got any idea to change my flight without paying much money?

The Penalty is 200 bucks and the Air fare difference is 1k+ then was thinking to forfeit the the flight and buy Air Asia one way from melbourne to KL but there is not much different. Then thinking of redeeming Enrich Miles but the tax is 200 plus AUD.

I hope there is a cheaper alternative

Hi, i just got an email saying that my flight is cancelled, so i called malaysia airlines CS and they told me to change time which i have to incur fare difference. The nearest flight to change is 3000+ ringgit.

Is there any recourse for my situation?
