I had sent an email to MAS asking something about IFE in new ordered (not leasted) 737-800. They reply and stated that there will be "state-of-the-art" in flight entertainment system. I accidentally deleted the email.

Does anybody know what it means by "state-of-the-art"?

I think it is a sales gimmick where they seem to offer you cheap tickets at one point in time, forcing people to commit to buy early and pay for them and lock you into their terms and conditions.

Word of advice is not to book your tickets in advance as the idea of booking early to save on ticket prices does not apply with MAS. The later the better as prices on MAS fares declines overtime.

Has anyone else experience this?

This case not only happen to MAS, but also happen to AirAsia. I never book an AirAsia flight for myself, but always help my aunt and uncle to book MAS & AirAsia flights, as they don't know how to use computer. Last time, My aunt and her husband asked me to help them book AirAsia flight. I forgot the total price. But, not long later AirAsia come out with RM0 fare promotion, then my aunt and uncle feel regret.

Sorry for out of topic. But, what I can say is, it really depends on our luck.

And, now MAS not only offer "grab-a-deal", but also "Weekend Special" promotion some weeks, and this "Weekend Special" promotion start Saturday and end Sunday.

Look at your SPAM folder.

I never have this issue. I always book MAS but always receive itinerary immediately after booking. I'm using GMail.

No wonder you did not receive the ticket.

For me, yahoo mail is suck. When I use Yahoo mail, almost every time when my friends send me important email but I never receive it, and not even in the junk folder.

That's why I switched to GMail.

Contact a travel insurance company.

So far, I know a lot of insurance company (Kurnia, etc) offer travel insurance.

MAS offer again. Go to London, tokyo and other international destination only RMxxx all inclusive. To US only RM 1xxx. Even though they are facing financial loss.

I think MAS offer "book now pay later" option if I'm not mistaken. MAS also accept direct debit via Maybank and CIMB online banking. http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/my/en/bkin...nt-options.aspx

For AirAsia, direct debit option will be missing if you choose your seats.

I will suggest you apply for a debit VISA / Mastercard, which can do online transaction and does not require income. Both MAS and AirAsia accept debit VISA / MasterCard. I can be the witness for this because I tried to use Debit card to book MAS and AirAsia ticket online, and the check-in went very smooth.

If you have a bank account, ask your bank to activate your ATM card for overseas money withdrawal.

You can also apply for a Debit VISA / Mastercard from any bank, use it to do spending in Korea. But, you must inform the bank that you will use it in Korea.

I think you can contact just any travel agent.

I suggest you better go to MAS office to avoid paying fees to travel agent.

Not sure about this but my brother ever carry laptop bag + hand carry before. But, you need to confirm this with MAS. And, BA's rules different from MAS. You need to ask BA also.

Etihad Airways has code share agreement with MAS.

MAS allow passengers to check-in for code-shared flight if passengers connecting from MAS flight to flight operated by code-share partner, baggage will be automatically transferred. I know this because I asked MAS through email, their customer service replied and tell me that they allow that, and what I need to do is to bring all my air tickets to the airport, that's it..

But, for Etihad, I am not sure whether they will allow you to check-in for your MAS flight when you check-in in London or not, you better contact Etihad now.

If the one issued by Ebookers is true electronic ticket, I think it will be no problem. I ever board MAS domestic flight just by telling them my electronic ticket number and my IC. But, for international, you need to show the electronic ticket plus your passport and visa (if your destination country need your nationality to have visa).
