i assume this would be the i5. If you need the performance (photo/graphics/encoding/etc) then yea go for it man. good price, however if you deal with alot of video editing, I would suggest u go for the i7 quad core as it have hyper-threading. More info here

after looking at the price, mbp's prices looked like they are over priced. i mean 7677 for 27" and i7 seems like a pretty sweet deal to me.  nod.gif

Then wait for a refresh lar.... the current lines of MBPs are already 6 months old... and you have to understand, Apple's playing a balance between Thinnovation and Power, so don't expect the MBPs to be as powerful as the iMac. They're both catered to different market segments.

Just where the heck did you find out that MBP's approaching end of cycle...? It's only mid-life... and it won't be refreshed until December at the earliest...

It's so freaking simple... if you need it for work, just buy it...! Else keep waiting for the latest and greatest... by the time Apple releases new MBPs, I bet you'll hear rumors of even newer better models... so you'll just keep waiting until either Apple tapau, or you tapau...

Ini pun mau stress kah...? Life's got much better decisive things to stress about rather than just a computer that can last you only couple of years...

This sound awkwardly familiar, LOL.

wait lar, wait.... wait till Apple release implant Mac to your brain, no need to upgrade anymore, cause Apple control human species by then. hahaha... just kidding ya.

Steve quoted "latest and greatest" when he announced that Apple's transitioning from PowerPC to Intel... tongue.gif

No, no. Then you should wait for them to make the implant teach you kung fu. And then wait SOME MORE just because you've resisted so damn long anyway.

apple didnt go for i3/i5 for the MBP 13" because they would have to settle for the inferior intel HD graphics. so instead of good CPU + bad graphics, they went for okay CPU + okay graphics
*
The next refresh of the 13" MBP I'll pay close attention to it... There were sources that inferior Intel HD graphics was not the only reason Apple did not adopt the i3/i5.... It's also more likely space constraints on the MBP 13" logic board to accommodate a dedicated GPU...

yeap that's why good CPU + good GPU is not possible. hence, as i said, only two choice... good CPU + crap GPU or okay CPU + okay GPU tongue.gif

the intel HD graphics is integrated to the CPU die, not a separate chip. there is space for a i3/i5
*
This will be a good article to read...

Why the 13" MBP didn't get a Core i5 upgrade..?

Hi there, i need some advice regrading the macbook coconut battery issue..

so this is it.. my mbp 15 inch is brand new set but when i download the coconut battery it show that regrading my set has been 3 month..

now the point is i wondering it is refurbish set or just the system error anyone having this issue or anyone can enlighten me?
*
Now I don't use coconut battery, but if and only if the software derives this information from your machine serial number, then it should reflect the age of your machine when it was manufactured, not when you purchased it...

Just trying a guess, does your MBP serial number conforms to XX018XXXXXX to XX024XXXXXX...?

QUOTE(Ojimaru @ Oct 5 2010, 01:53 PM)
The point is that Apple sees themselves as Ferrari would in the automobile industry. Be it their phones, computers, music players or smart phones, Apple has always set themselves apart with their higher prices and equally higher quality. Point in fact: in the first half of 2010, Apple's phone sales governed only 2.8% of all phone sales (in the US) yet still managing to claim 39% of the profit share. Comparatively, Nokia, Samsung and LG combined managed to rake in 32% of the profit share, despite having ~66% market share in the same period. (Source)

tl;dr: Apple doesn't need to stoop to lowering profit margins to remain successful.
*
The point is, the bugger you're replying is having a PC mindset... Not many ppl can understand Apple's business model... tongue.gif

tl:dr indeed... sweat.gif

Fraud maybe... Stolen items maybe... Other reasons maybe... Ask those guys who sell them lar... There are so many sellers lurking around here... tongue.gif

The last I check, they said they bulk from somewhere outside the country aka non-proper channels, that explains why some do not come with 3-pin plugs, some don't even have boxes. As for receipt, if AppleCare ever ask for one for warranty claims or DOA exchange, I bet the poor buyer goes "hai lat"....

I assume you're using a broadband modem...? Check the modem model number from there and run it thru the modem manufacturer's website for latest drivers...
