there's a thread and a converter made specifically to encode HD video for Xperia. developed in xda-forums for Touch HD and the same settings/program could be used for X1.
i've tried and converted quite a few movies using it with great satisfaction. plays back smoothly, with a little stutter at the end of file. still trying to figure out what's exactly the culprit.

from experience, the SD card tweak does help a bit in helping the playback, even when some ROM developers say that it's already implemented. no harm in installing the tweak. helps both playback in media player and media panel. i'm using both occasionally.

and i've been running on Kingston 4GB Class 4 for quite a while before moving to 8GB Transcend Class 6 last week. the speed increase is somewhat minimal. disk accesses are somewhat faster when browsing files using File Manager, and Garmin Mobile XT starts faster, but that's about it. my stuttering at the end of movies are still present. just a few frameskips towards the end, but it still bothers me.

regret i didn't go straight to 16GB (or 32GB) Class 4. bought 8GB Class 6 thinking i'll see huge improvement jumping 2 classes. can't find any 16/32GB Class 6 in lowyat.

p/s: i did some research and turns out Transcend and A-Data has some of the highest speed amongst all Class 6 micro-sd's

i think ur problem quite serious.. better flash stock rom n stock spl n reqest a brand new set from ur dealer.. hopefully urs is thorus then replacement set shouldnt be a big problem..

n for valkyrie 2.5.. the problem of hung halfway can be solve.. remember to take out microsd for first boot.. then once it ask u for screen alignment, do it as fast as u could.. then shouldnt be problem.. if left there for a while only do the screen alignment, then it will juz hung there.

bro, im wondering. there wont be that unless u diden do 1 seriously important thing. did u hard spl ur xperia b4 u flasing 3rd oarty rom?

i had stated in red n big on the first page that every 3rd party rom must be flash on hard-spl n unlocked xperia.

n yeah, i found that valkyrie 2.2 is really a good rom.. no problem at all.. now using valkyrie 2.7. quite stable too. but no LEO..haha..

u could find the latest rom from xda-developers website. but even myself are lazy to download from there as that is very slow. last time i was committed to this thread web folder service and always allocated my time for that. now, no more web folder, what is da point i download rite?

i was wondering...is there a way to set my own ringtone for certain ppl that call me?? and also how can i actually set my own ringtone for new sms received and own ringtone for alarm. i can't seem to find it any where. i am only able to select those default ringtone for windows. anybody can help me on this pls....thanks

I just tried Leo 3.4, it's still laggy imo, didn't even tried it for more than 30 minutes, flashing to FS 3.1 now, hopefully it's fast enough for daily usage. I don't need fancy graphics, but want a stable platform for day to day usage. Great that FS 3.4 has the weather incorporated into home screen.. Will report back soon.

i already hardSPL my x1. download rename and put in the formatted fat32 8gb microSD.when i boot into the bootloader mode (4 color mode) it just stop there
