not really. i also thought i prefer the silver after seeing so many good pics of silver X1. the black looks rather dull and not sophisticated enough and cheap and dirty and plasticky and like a cheap toy.

well until i went and touch the phone myself. although i always thought the silver looks better in each and every pic that i've came across on the net, i think the black is just nicer to see in real life.

and although i still think silver looks nicer in the pics (they really do, compared to black);
i'm holding a black X1 in my hands.

haha.. no worry.. i doesnt mean it oso la.. everyone got their own view on xperia.. but when u get used to windows mobile, u will know how good it is.

the shields unless u have l33t sticking skills, stay away from it. i recommend a good 30 bucks or max 50 bucks silicone casing if u must, or even a golla pouch

yea if your sticking skills arent l33t, the shields will not stick properly. u'll either have bubbles of some sort or WORSE, dust seems to somehow enter the corners of your shield making your device look ugly. the only person i know who's ever managed to pull it off with invisible shield is dadarouch. perhaps u can PM him

Yeah...to install those shields u need 'super sticking skills'. I've tried installing before on my P1 last time and then ended up in a mess....The sides start peeling and some parts just wouldnt stick. In 3 months time...the protective shield layer starts getting yellowish which makes the phone looks untidy and old.... I definitely wouldnt suggest u got for those shields. They are pricey and I dont think they really work. Maybe it will protect against light scratches but defitnitely not drops. For me I keep it simply by just buying a good leather pouch (ie Capdase) to protect the phone. Though abit bulky it gets the job done.

I used capdase leather case fliptop b4.n yeah..it is really bulky.too bulky for me in fact,because i like to put my phone in my pocket.now im using PDair leather case..also a fliptop one.i like it waay better than capdase becoz it's less bulky and also more stylish design..hehe

How much is the PDair leather pouch? Again care to show us some pics and where u bought it from.....Coz in lowyat most of them selling only capdase...couldnt find PDair pouches.

for GPRS, u can google modaco nodata. that is good software that disable Data connection.
