I just got myself a capdase fliptop leather casing for my X1. Looks good and functions well....not too bulky too...go have a look at it...
I saw some forummers selling this too....price around Rm120 at lowyat plaza.

After having the xperia for 10 days...the major weakness I find with this phone is the sound quality. I think S.E gave the xperia low quality speaks. The sound quality sucks big time and cant even come close to my c702.

yes... i second that.. tat is windows mobile special characteristics too.. i always prefer 3rd party rom.. n wont ever bak to original rom ever again unless i nid to send for warranty.
modded rom i dont think is a good term for it. should b called 3rd party rom. they do mod it, but still using htc/se base rom as base.

hmm, by flashing 3rd party rom. u nid to hard-spl 1st. which definitely void the warranty. but we could easily flash bak to stock spl so that warranty is valid.
*
Hehe...one day I hope u will arrange for an SEX1 forummers gathering so that we could look at wut U have in your phones... I've really never see a modded X1 before...maybe I will change my mind after seeing your modded phones then thumbup.gif

Guys,
Anyone of you who knows where to get an extra usb cable and charger for our xperia? Coz I need on at home and then another at office. I've tried the Momax cable...and the box says its for HTC...its not working with my phone...so have to find other options.
I've checked with Sony Ericsson and had been quoted Rm110 for the ori charger/usb cable...Any of you guys got other options?

But where do I Buy the o2 atom usb cable or the mini usb cable used for hard drives? I think lowyat should have... I dont really need it to charge the phone....only for sync and data transfer.
The dealer warned me that using not ori chargers will actually damage or shorten the lifespan of the battery/phone
Mind to share where u guys bought the cables from?

Thats why I dare to risk my X1 lor.. Car charger also the same....veyr sensitive...must get ori one.
But dont u notice it takes extra long to charge the phone even with the original usb cable? Thats why I prefer not too.
Haih.... why did S.E change the connectors...should have stick with the normal S.E Connectors then mar easier for us lor..somemore damn stingy gave one 1 usb cable with the package for a Premium priced Phone like the X1

Thats true...after I've upgraded from P1 to X1, I feel that Im in a totally different world...Up until now Im still getting used to it because all along I've been on the Symbian P800, P900, P910, P990 and P1.

But it really takes ALOT of getting used to...till now...excuse me for saying this...but I still feel that symbian fuctions are easier to use compared to WinMo. But now majority of PDa manufacturers are going for WinMo than symbian. So I think I have to follow the flow too lor. The thing I like best about the X1 is the GPS....its reception is pretty good and locks satellites damn fast...Its almost as good as a standalone Garmin GPS module.

hmm.. i suspect is usb cable problem.. i personally diden tried yet thou.. but my brother in law get these problem b4.. later he bought another usb cable which written there for O2 Atom Life. Plug it into HTC touch hd.. n it works.!!

i hav no idea why...
*
Alamak...its not working because I bought the cheap usb to hardisk type cable from computer shops which cost me only Rm12. No wonder it doesnt work. Went to lowyat and to a HTC retailer and bought the compatible cable at Rm30. Works very well now. The ori htc is rm 60...didnt buy coz its too expensive and the dealer said it to be the same as the compatible. Sorry guys...my mistake.

QUOTE(RX-78-2 @ Jun 26 2009, 09:09 PM)
actually normlly i use the casing with belt clip. but at home i will take it out.
then some mishap this morning... luckily no obvious crack or scratches.
Actually i looking for a pouch to be use when i not working so it's thin enough to put in pocket. The belt clip case is mainly for working.
Any recommedation for that kind of slide in pouch??
I only can found from online shop.

tomei,
what OS u using? XP or Vista?
how about u try it in differenct PC?
*
Bro...maybe u can buy the Capdase leather pouch like the one Im using...its quite good to me...good quality leather...safe and secure...and the best is u can remove the belt clip when u dont need it. Slide in pouch u can get from S.E shops but quite expensive around Rm180. U can actually get cheaper alternative by buying the 'unbranded' ones at any handphone shop..only that u need to try and see whether it fits.

Well.....all I can say its a pretty darn good phone. Suits all my needs and expectations. Depends on what you are looking for in a phone and what you use your phone. But bewarn that if you are not the computer or gadget savvy type of user....then you will have some headache handling the phone in the initial phase. The functions are much more 'advanced' than normal phones.

thx for the guide, but some of it alrdy are the things tat became general to be check..
is there anything else? something like how to check the rom version? or any hidden thing nid to check?
sry for asking so many, since i havent touch the phone yet, i nid to ask our fellow pro users here.... icon_question.gif
*
If u wan to be on the safe side then u should buy the ori phone like me....save you lotsa worries and headache. I will only buy ap if they are less complicated or advanced phones. Heck they cant even repair my C702 rclxub.gif They updated the phone with some FW that I cant update with SEUS. So was stuck with the old FW that keeps the phone restarting......So I sold off the phone. If that also they cant repair...think bout the Xperia

i have 3 external hard disks. and another one just bought yesterday waiting for usage.
all 4 mini USB works perrfectly with the phone. both charging and syncing.
*
Why ar? I just bought a HTC compatible cable for Rm30 and it works just like the original. The Rm12 one I bought from IT City couldnt be used leh.....most of the time it shows 'usb device not recognized'

QUOTE(yeelin04 @ Jun 28 2009, 10:10 AM)
can i ask, how to set the battery icon (the battrey level) at the on top near to the line bars there? + how to change the city at the panel there? i cant find malaysia  sweat.gif ..its a original phone
*
The battery Icon is always there....it depends on what kind of Xpanel u are using....
To change the city of choice just click on the city and u will go to the settings. U can change from there. U must select your state or city like Kuala Lumpur.

I've just updated my rom through SEUS yesterday. Software version is R3AA010 right now. My phone is from Thorus. Firmware is Generic UK. Im still testing the phone right now after I've updated all my settings and contacts back to the phone. Havent really noticed wuts the difference in performance. Major difference is in contacts where the alphabets to select contacts are now at the right hand side and not on top.
Xpanel manager is still the same like R2AA. Couldnt find the Autoflash function and Geotagging on this yet. Maybe someone can highlight the difference between R2AA and R3AA...? whistling.gif

yes, it's slideout hardware keypad.

Chinese "ZhuYin" version:

English version:

We are no longer using Zhuyin (Taiwanese use), we use pingyin with alphabet.
So the extra Zhuyin symbols on the keypad are useless and distracting!!!

Hehe....I find this really annoying too ....but what to do...u already got the phone. Should have checked when u bought. I nearly kena the same whenI bought an E71 last time...only thing its worst coz its Korean on the keypads. rclxub.gif Luckily I noticed before I bought the phone.

Here goes the colour debate again....then again...I bought BLACK because I like black more lor.... I think its looks classier and really makes the X1 stand outs different from other phones. thumbup.gif

Bros...
I dont know why or isit all X1s when u put it on charge, the display doesnt turn off completely...Is it only my phone or everyone of u experience the same thing? It only happens if you happen to have an incoming call or u wake it up from sleep mode to access the functions... I find this quite annoying coz the display will continue to lit up while charging.
