u r so good to read all the discussion here.. i cannot sure can 100% tell u all stuff bout windows mobile, because windows mobile is really a great customization operating system for phone.. n got tons of tons of stuff to be able to mod the phone..

but, we guy will be gladly try our best to help u out in anyway.

in general:

ROM -> is a package of containing windows n files of a PDA. it is exactly the same the is called FIRMWARE for other SE phone. ROM can contain different version of windows mobile and a lot of 3rd party stuff like TF3D. newest rom version as i post now is WM6.1 build 21042 and WM6.5 build 21501.

HARD-SPL -> is something like security unlock your device so that u can install 3rd party ROM. but, this step must must be very careful. if u fail it, u will brick your phone permanently! u can refer to the link i posted on 2nd post for more info bout it.

.cab file -> this is a installation package for each software u downloaded. u can copy this .cab file n use file explorer inside windows mobile to install this software u downloaded.

besides, my webfolder {link on 2nd post as well}, will constantly have update bout the latest ROM file ther. u can download from ther as it support resume transfer.

if u plan to install TF3D into stock rom, then u can visit HERE for more info.

best is still recommend u download 3rd party rom that is already have integrated TF3D inside. that will be have least bug compare than u install .cab of TF3D.

best recommended rom now is smaberg's 100% bug free rom.. i think that will be good enuf for 1st time flashing.

erm, it is sometimes depend on the ROM u installed into the phone.

my rom now able to get me to 1.5 day now.. with 1 hours music, 30mins GPS, all day HSDPA-on push mail...

if HSDPA-off, while others maintain, then can 2.5days. idle everything, should be able to hit 5 days. thou, i personally didnt try yet.

is very very long battery life compare to other PDA dy...

What's the difference between smaberg's ROM and Touch IT? They seem to have incorporated HTC TF3D.

100% bug free smells good for me.

waaa, how good is ur xperia is.. mine 1 only can 1day with push mail on...tsk tsk..

BTW X1 is better in batt life then my previous diamond (same usage but lasted only half a day )

yeah, should b lot more better because of large capacity.. but, i doesnt not really hav much email lar.. juz i use it to browse n HSDPA all the time, i didnt off it eventhough i only subcribe to 3G service..haha..

i run my iris browser all the time without close it.. to avoid loading time..

Hmm? What are the advantages of Jack's ROM?

i still feel it is more smoother... no laggy around 1.. especially medium rom.. but i prefer full rom since i no nid to install many 3rd party software n mess up da registry...

tat y last time i claimed b4 jack full rom is faster b4 everything is cooked inside da rom rather than we nid to install ourself..

So Jack ROM is much faster without much lags right? Is it faster than Stock ROM?

What about bugs? You notice any bugs with Jack's ROM?

how come this space suddenly like stopped 1... haha

anyway, im using smaberg rom.. but i notice that, while im playing music via headphone, i off my screen.. then afta a while like 1-2mins, da screen will on by itself without anything shown...

then i off da backlight again.. same thing happen... no idea why.. but i tot this rom should 100% bug free...

my unit started to having problem for the lcd
sometimes when i wake it up, it seem like having some "special effect" around the screen like glowing oval shape which make the color around that area greyish -,-", and it will fade off slowly in 30min times

hmm.. tat sounds quite serious.. do u go n ask SE for replacement then? should b under warranty for this kind of issue..
