Your cable doesn't seem grounded well, meaning a broken cable. Just get a replacement cable and if you can't find one I'll swap one with you plus cash for your unmodded PS2

Or just in case there's anything wrong with your PS1 and need a replacement, I have an Aussie PS1 as well

The lens is slowly dying I'm afraid, and it's a common sight. Get a another one or replace the lens (a bit difficult these days) to solve your problem
