[quote=jedi_master,Mar 25 2009, 08:59 PM]I own the 50mm f1.4. Although it's just on my humble A100 but it's still a really really good lens.

Btw I'm new here.. hi people!  laugh.gif

This was taken with my 50mm F1.4 at 1/100, F5.0. The detail is excellent from at least 2-3 stops down!

morning everybody....wanna ask something....i bought my a300 last week and recently i found out that there some minor 'click' sound can be heard whenever i hold the hand grip portion of the camera, seems like the rubberized skin is causing the sound, is it a defect?
*
Can replicate the sound often ? If so you might want to send to service center. my a200 don't have click sound b4.

guys,

let say i have 4 subject and want to produce bokeh, how should i do? i tried and it looks like 2 of 4 are OOF. is it reduce aperture is the only way? can we set multiple focus point?
*
Try to arrange the subject in a horizontal plane

Behind Blur
0000
Front Blur

...than vertical...

0Blur
0Blur
0Focus
0Blur

Here my picture... this will help abit to understand.

i use M mode
for flash settings, i use ADI flash...not pre-flash...pre flash i think is for the in built flash...hehe...
i find that manual mode, you get better control of the flash
*
Pre-Flash TTL - Is a flash method that shoot out a signal to measure how much power the camera to set for flash.

ADI (support direct flash only)- if you use bounce it will revert back to TTL automatically .

wow...thanks bro albert!!!
so, now i know that i need to use HSS in daylight to get the bokeh effect right:)

btw, i`m still quite lost on controlling the flash, i am using auto-mode and realized that the exposure is not well controlled though...

hence i always switch to M(camera) mode while using flash. I also realized that the xposure bar is neglected adi...no matter what shutter speed i use,i will get almost the same exposure because the flash has compensate it(correct?) meaning that camera expsoure will not affect the picture when flash is intact.

my question is i`m not getting the right exposure throughout the whole picture with flash on. for isntance, i was shooting at dark env and i only have my subject well lit. i also relized that i cant control the speed of the flash, (i duno if there is a flash that can contorl it) the flash speed seems to be following cameras shutter speed...

i did a few test, in order to capture more background, i need the shutter to be opnend longer so what i do is, i will still use auto (power & zoom) on flash but i will reduce my camera to 1/20 in order to get the background well lit...is that the only way?

any webbie to recommend to learn how to bounce wall? i realized a lot of restaurants ceiling are black or damn high up...hardly can bounce and i dont have a diffuser...should i get a dome?labency?or bounce card?

cant load youtube sigh...do it tmr!
sorry for a lot of quesition..smile.gif
thanks
i tried diffuser for canon 430 and it fits f42 but that guy is selling for 129...siao!

1)Increase ISO will help to capture ambients light also.
2) Search for a betterbouncecard or in alphanatics DIY got it also for alt diffuser.
3)Here this might help you to learn about flash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=One9CMWJQzI
