i'm was an arranger and composer.

firstly you need to state what kind of environment you want, and how serious you want your workstation to be?

like mine, it was just a very simple bedroom workstation - a set of PC, pair of hi-fi (real hi-fi, not mini hi-fi), sound card, double LCD monitor, and a midi keyboard and off i go, and have been doing so for 5 years.

if you already have PC, then you can start to think of a pair of good speakers, good soundcard, and midi keyboard, they're going to cost you around RM4000 (speakers RM1500 soundcard RM1500 keyboard RM1000). then you need to look into midi sequencing softwares, try reaper, free download and it's a shareware but you can use it forever for free, though, you should pay $50 license fee for personal use, or $200 for professional use.

if you die die want to save as much as you can, also no problem. if you're using audigy, download the KX driver, or chaplang soundcard, download the ASIO4ALL. these are generic ASIO drivers for consumer soundcards to let them communicate with the CPU directly without going through your OS. then you can of course use your whatever speaker you want, best use a good headphone which probably will only cost you RM100+. as for keyboard, you can use some cheap casio keyboard as
mini controller but it's always better to buy something better.

pro! thanks ur sincerity for helping down here thumbup.gif
see, i'm zero to these thingy
am a pianist, guitarist, and vocalist, just plain for playing and fun
and now new to arranging(along work with comp), so i don't really know where to start, what to setup
so hope you to guide me !
maybe wait me to go through the threads of link provided upstair first
then i know what i want, and i'll get back to here and flooded questions again! haha

eg, like producingg piano and guitar and violin etc instruments sounds for making a demo,
then recording vocal into this mixed and half-completed song

i dont really know those AMP, transmitter etc plug-ins and what for what function thingy (i'm really zero to these XnX, but i try to get my feet wet into this from now tongue.gif )

actualy dont really need those high-end stuff (i'm still a poor folk with not much bucks held in hand)
just a so-so at least fair good quality production can be made out then good enough dy
so about how much is the budget for this setup? including those those those....plug-ins/machine/equipment
see, zero.... hrm, can i have a full list for exactly what and what i need/ what brand u recommend? include sound card, those those... plug-ins..
lol

ok, look forward to ur reply , and other advise/recommendation too
thanks nod.gif notworthy.gif
