Hey guys, just knew about this thread. I am totally a newbie in this, but was wondering if anyone can recommend me a good system and casing?
Primary use would be for browsing, torrenting, and the occasional games like Red Alert 3,Warhammer: Dawn of War, Football Manager. Not high end gaming, just ok enough specs to run those games smoothly.
Budget would be less than RM2000, where can I purchase them in KL. I quite like Silverstone's casings. Many thanks and I appreciate the feedbacks guys.
Edit: Scratch that, Aopen G326 looks kinda nice as well, wonder what can I fit inside that is under Rm2000?

QUOTE(Doom @ Oct 16 2009, 09:30 AM) @slyyoung With ur budget I dont think u should look at Silverstone case coz it cost starting from RM3++... look for other model like microfly and etc which would give u better deal. go for AMD setup see if can fit it under ur budget loh @crapp0 matx motherboard can fit in any micro atx specific case. but most likely wont fit into shuttle kind of case.. for your requirement any matx case would be able to do so but the size is definitely larger than Shuttle ... Besides the smaller motherboard, other components like RAM, HDD, PSU can use normal sized ones rite?

QUOTE(Doom @ Oct 16 2009, 10:48 AM) RAM, HDD, PSU... these things size can't be different unless u are looking at notebook setop my previous post to crapp0 suggested xqbox is highly recommended.. System Specs PSU : AMD X2 4400+MOBO : Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S2RRAM : Corsair DDR1 1GB X2 (Corsair 4GB DDR2)PSU : Mushkin HP-550GFX : Gigabyte 7900GTXS CARD : ESI Juli@HDD: 500GB SeagateAh, that casing looks nice as well, but the above specs is a bit outdated rite? What would your recommendations be given my budget? In bold would be what I prefer.

Doom And frosti3: No those are not my specs, I found it in the xqbox thread. I am building a system completely from scratch.
Yeah, I think I'll scratch silverstone for the time being, freaking expensive, haha. I'm down to either G326 or xqbox.
So,
proc: phenom 720 - RM420 mobo: asus m4a785d-m pro - RM345 RAM: 2 x 2GB Corsair PC800 D2 Value RM260 casing: - Aopen G326/xqbox - RM300 GC: 5770 - RM650 HDD: Seagate 500GB - RM180 PSU: CM Extreme Power 500W - RM199
total: RM2354
Can I opt for a cheaper GC? Does games like Red Alert, Dawn of War run with a lower GC?

So, more or less should be like that la. Prices are all quoted from c-zone, except for the casing.

What's the difference? So I must let the seller know explicitly that I want the modular version?
