better GPU temps now, 5c to 10c lower than my previous setting
4890 vapor-x, core load temps 81c

my cm geminii S fan is pulling air upwards into PSU, lol
load temps for phenom 720 @ 3.5ghz is around 53c

@crapp0
AFAIK no one bringing in p55 matx yet...

Im not in malaysia. So that means that there are micro atx boards for the core i5. All i need is the suitable PSU and casing to go with it.

@doom

Thank heavens my Stanley screwdriver is hard enough to punch through those rivets,
whole process took me less than an hour.

i'd thought about hx520/620 or cm silent pro m600
but sadly due to budget issue, cannot procure those PSU or a dremel/rtx for proper mod work doh.gif

hmmm cable sleeving... will try that some time in the near future  laugh.gif

how's your 5850 performance ? good temps & silent ?

@crapp0
just checked newegg, asus maximus III gene, MSI p55m-gd45 & gigabyte GA-P55M-UD4

Is it possible to fit those boards into a shuttle pc type of casing? or something abit bigger but not a tower case?

So can a micro atx board fit into a SFF casing, something like a shuttle pc casing or maybe just abit bigger?

Since i am planning to build a portable SFF core i5 system with a ati 5850. I would prefer a coolermaster case but i dont think they have any cases which may fit a core i5 in a sff.

With ur budget I dont think u should look at Silverstone case coz it cost starting from RM3++...

look for other model like microfly and etc which would give u better deal.

go for AMD setup see if can fit it under ur budget loh

@crapp0
matx motherboard can fit in any micro atx specific case.

but most likely wont fit into shuttle kind of case..

for your requirement any matx case would be able to do so but the size is definitely larger than Shuttle ...
*
So theres no p55 board which is capable of fitting into a shuttle type of casing?

So whats the smallest casing i can get for a micro atx motherboard? and whats its size in relation to a shuttle sff casing?

Given u requirement of i5 and 5850, I wont suggest to go for smallest possible case, coz it would compromise the cooling performance and resulting unstable system.

In general, Shuttle case is like 30% smaller than smallest matx case..hmm.gif

Im not looking to do any overclocking btw. just use stock standard for now. Looks like i have to get a micro atx casing.

Just wondering what kind psu rating should i get say if i wanted the core i5 with either a 5850 or crossfire 5770 set up? is 650 watts enough?

That's under the condition even before doing any overclocking ...

and

Don't get too excited of doing crossfire on a small case, u would get massive of headache during installation and maintenance... .

Lastly, better off get a 5850 and run with a good 600 watts modular Power suppler ..nod.gif

Ok, then forget the SFF, i'll just have to go with a micro atx casing. Hopefully they have those which arent too big, bulky or heavy.

this is what u can get the best for the asking price...brows.gif

spacious for ur requirement and with a bit of modification, a tower CPU cooler can be installed nod.gif

I may not even go for a third party cooler, just use stock standard. I doubt that singapore vendors have this casing coz im not goint to the states anytime soon and australia is just 2 bloody expensive.
