QUOTE(fr0sti3 @ Sep 17 2009, 11:06 PM) Hikari oso sellin Aopen ITX & MATX casings AOpen cases, and most of these small cube cases in general, are ok so long as you have tiny exhaust fans on the side of the case. Failing that you shouldn't be using CPUs that overheat too much (those above 65nm) or any graphic cards. You will also need to direct a fan at your north and southbridge.http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1032806&hl=aopen |

Should the Vulcan be considered an SFF or should it be in another category instead? The S in SFF stands for small, not medium or large.

QUOTE(mADmAN @ May 20 2010, 01:31 PM) Not according to this. I've dealt with real tiny m-ATX cases before, such as the AOpen H420. But even in a sufficiently inebriated state, I wouldn't call that mother an SFF. What I think of when people mention SFF is basically this.![]() It's not about how much your 3DMark Vantage can score, but how much electricity you can save without sacrificing power. |

QUOTE(qwerty79 @ Dec 19 2012, 10:00 AM) Product pageHere are my thoughts. This case doesn't come cheap at 388 RMB (RM190) not including shipping. Due to the dimension and low 120w PSU, it's really meant for Atom boards. Airflow inside would be too restrictive for Core i-series CPUs with Intel HD graphics, unless you don't do any heavy computing or any amount of gaming. You can't play games anyway due to the missing opening for PCIe card. Intel graphics on Core i3 is pretty weak compared to Core i5. Those who are interested in ultra small form factors would be better off looking for the genuine article--a Mac Mini, instead of China or Korea knock-offs. It's at least a lot more functional. Used Mac Minis with Core i5 can be found for less than 1500. Retail price is 1899, but I'm sure you can find it new in the forum for less. The Apple set comes with pretty well-engineered airflow, not to mention a suite of much coveted multimedia apps. If you only need a media kit to play MKV videos and run minor apps, then why not get a small and cheap Android player instead? It costs under 400. |

QUOTE(Eng_Tat @ Mar 11 2014, 09:11 PM) Hi all, long time didnt come to this tread already. What do you guys thin about Jonsbo casing, how is their quality compared to Lian li cases? i am looking at particularly U3R. Jonsbo U3 is not a bad looking case, it's simple and stylish. However due to the tight space inside, you can only use very low CPU heatsinks. So if you have an overclockable Core i processor, you can only upclock it a little before CPU gets too hot. There's a much older Chyangfun case that fares a lot better.http://www.chyangfun.com/cfi-axx89.html This case can accommodate an optical drive, a 3.5" drive, and a small size heatsink such as the Cooler Master Vortex Plus. http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-ai...er/vortex-plus/ Technically, the Vortex Plus can fit into the Jonsbo U3, but the fan would be pressed hard against the PSU. It'll be hard, if not impossible, to find a thinner fan that fits the CPU fan socket as a replacement. If anyone can find more of this Chyangfun case, please PM me. |

QUOTE(g88 @ Mar 13 2014, 04:08 PM) Nice piece of information. I am also in the mid of collecting all part to build a HTPC. Will be using a i5-S Slim CPU and SSD (2nd HDD optional) on Macro ATX board....wondering where to by the Jonsbo U3 in KL and how much does it cost ? By macro ATX, you most probably mean microATX. See this thread:http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-183...-macro-atx.html Jonsbo U3 is a case for mini ITX boards. You can order Jonsbo U3 from sellers here on the forum. Just go to Casings & PSUs Garage Sales and look for CyntrixTech or noobandroid. This post has been edited by Bad Cyborg: Mar 13 2014, 04:46 PM |
