How to start a Dota game?, single player

My PC is installed with Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne by the time I buy it and I would like to try play Dota again but dont know how to start. My friend teach me once but that is long long time ago. Can anyone help me? Thks in advance.

1-download map from http://www.getdota.com
2-put the downloaded map into maps folder under warcraft program files. 3-create custom game by pointing to the map. browse if necessasy. http://www.getdota.com/install_guide |

Thks in advance. you got the map or not ? advice to upgrade your warcraft version to 1.22 or 1.23 , download the map from http://www.getdota.com/ , if you want play online you can try download g arena client... create your user name , then log in... start the game , choose LAN , and join server... enjoy .... |

I download the latest patch but I can get my version 1.21 upgrade to the latest version. If I am using 1.21, can I download those map and pay DOTA?
