Halo guys...
Just now went to Maxis website and learn a lot about the new iPhone being offered by them.
I've known about iPhone for quite some time... I mean... I know it's a phone and it has caused some great ruckus over it (which is why I know it... from Yahoo! LOL)
So after receiving SMS from Maxis about its availability in Malaysia... I went ahead and go to the website to see the price.
I managed to find the price... only that there's a lot of it ranging from RM 0 to RM 2xxx++
And also there's iValue plan where we have to pay monthly ranging from RM100 (if I'm not mistaken).. all the way to RM3xx++
Err... I'm confuse now.
Why is this iPhone so strange? Need to buy it from Maxis and then need to pay monthly summore???
Can't use other telco as well right (that's what I understand after reading the whole website).
And then lets say I bought it anyway... and take the 12 months plan.
After 4 months I got boring and want to change phone. Since I am hooked with the iValue plan of 12 months... that means I can't change la rite??
Please someone clarify this for me... thanks in advance guys :-)

The thing is, they sell you the iPhone at a slightly cheaper price. Thats why they bond you to their service so that they get your business. They rugi slightly on the iPhone sales but they earn from your telephone usage.
For some people, they are already going to use the telephone line anyway, thus, getting this plan is a win-win situation.
Yes, you can use the iPhone for other telcos. I don't think they lock the iPhone to just Maxis, however, maxis already bond you to their line, means if you were to use iPhone for another telco, that would mean you have to maintain 2 lines.
Finally, if you decided to bail out before the contract period, you would have to pay a penalty. It would definitely cost more that way.
