i have a gigabyte poseidon 310 casing slotted 2 hdd in the lower hdd cage bay. the problem is that area is quite hot (marked) in picture attached, after sometime as i can felt the heat from the side panel. reading from speedfan indicatates my HDD temps are 41-44c, 44-47c for both hard disks respectively. should i replace the front intake fan to a powerful one, any recommendations or maybe make side blowhole @ the area, but i reckon that would be a good idea coz the hdd will be blockin the fan if its mounted on the side panel on that area... thx in advance. HD with temp 41~47 .. is optimal, 50+ deg will have their HD clucking to reduce the heat, if you reduce the HD temp lower than 30deg .. it'll cluck too to increase the heat
HD require heat to operate .. especially with their lubricant .. your setup is good, no need to change more
you could place more powerful fan etc .. but the temps will still be the same, then again .. placing more powerful fans will help in your general CPU cooling (assumed air-cooling)
but it's a good to have experience, just by listening alone wont help much .. you can remove your HD out and run it ... use air-con as well .. it'll be more or less 41~47 deg, try it with some dry ice from ice-cream man

Hmmm......Try spacing your HDD by 1 slot first, usually front intake case in front of HDD bay,the HDD usually run at 35 35 or so,depend on ambient and case heat

thx for all the replies.. i've moved up 1 hdd to the upper slots/3.5" floppy bay and remaining one in the lower HDD Cage bay.
now its 41c n 44c constant for both hard disk drive respectively during load activity e.g gaming.
