same here... sorry.

creative multimedia is in mmu cyber and i think most of us comes from mmu melaka i think. but this subject is quite cool tough. And if you are the kind of person who likes IT and very creative... take this one then...

I remember the other day i went to cyber and they show us lots of videos done by the students. And from emo to hilarious... all really got my attention. Haha. In job prospects, can go to movie industry i think...

FCM job prospect is rather good, they mostly revolve in anything which requires creative skills, advertising and stuff... Their coursework mark are 70% if I'm not mistaken, while 30% is for Final's Exam, so if you do good in coursework, you won't fail!

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Apr 11 2009, 12:20 AM)
I am not a shareholder or top admin staff, but I am a lecturer though  wink.gif

edit: just to add, the KPI covers more than just the academic evaluation
*
first of all, MMU isn't public listed and isn't a stock, bond or equity u can own shares~ if u're a lecturer, administration of MMU has to be confidential, u have no jurisdiction, am i right? if u're a staff, u may state it as it's under your provision~

it's my speculation that u are not a lecturer~ I've spoken to an Alpha lecturer regarding this matter and he didn't reveal anything~

in truth, whether u are or are not~ pls specify exactly what the KPI covers unless what the Dean says is true~ either the Dean of FET, Dr. Peter or u are lying~ i'm an outsider~ most of us are~ care to fill us in on this one?

QUOTE(gavinfernando @ Apr 11 2009, 12:27 AM)
KPI exist as a culture and trend. Does not have any documentation on it. It was not even written but act as a culture. Now, evaluation system has became more powerful and efficient to cater students rights.
*
i'm talking about black and white documented KPI here~ Uniten has this and by comparison, MMU has no KPI other than students academic evaluation according to Dr. Peter in last Feb's meeting with SRC, a representative from board of exam and me~

Uniten requires specific documents to allow penalty on lecturers from any power abuse~ for example, if they are found to be under-performing, they are given a warning and then required to attend a hearing and finally, a transfer in subjects taught as the heaviest penalty~

MMU has none of the above as far as I've heard from the Dean of FET~

If any part of this culture is present, pls present the proof~ if it's your imagination, pls present it to the university so that they can make it a reality~

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 11 2009, 12:41 AM)
No, I did not mean students evaluation is KPI. Of course I know the meaning of KPI, as I told you I'm taking the subject this trimester. smile.gif

Anyway, I do not want to comment much as Human Nature, one of the lecturers of MMU has stood out to speak about this matter. smile.gif
Oh ya, I was from FET and now at FBL. smile.gif
Yes, to add on Human Nature's point. KPI covers lecturers' R&D aspect too. smile.gif
*
I'm actually saying that MMU has no KPI at all other than students' academic evaluation~

QUOTE(ewynn @ Apr 12 2009, 05:36 PM)
Can someone pls brief me about the campus life on the Faculty of Creative Technologh in MMU . Among the majors offered , which one is more popular ? Are the design courses fully accredited ??

''According to today's SUNDAY TIMES , education (12/4/2009) , more than 90% of its 119 prograammes have achieved full accreditation by MQA .''
*
MQA is the new name for LAN, to qualify for MQA, there are some requirements that need to be fulfilled and ALL institutions of higher learning which offers courses which have at least 1 batch of graduates should have MQA qualification~

it's like the basic requirement to come up with a license to trade in the sales sector, everyone should have one, otherwise, u're an unregistered road-side hawker with no license~

I do not wish to continue this argument anymore because I see it leads to nowhere. As I said, my lecturers have been telling us KPI is practised in MMU after the appointment of the new president.

You have your say and I have mine. I'm really tired of repeating this, MMU has KPI besides the students evaluation system, it is between the management and the lecturers. I believe I have made this clear this time.

With this I rest my case.

Added on April 13, 2009, 9:40 pmI wish to add another point, not only one lecturer says this, I have encountered more than 3 lecturers telling us the same thing. KPI is practised in MMU.

So, is this evident enough? Or you want me to bring you to meet up with them? smile.gif Since it is confidential and can't reveal here?

Fair enough?

pls bring me to meet them, so that I can bring another piece of evidence to the present SRC blog, which has represented the students and helped to bring info by meeting with the Dean of FET and still couldn't get the facts across~ so yes, i'd like to meet the lecturers~ i'll be awaiting your PM on contact details, tq~

Will do so and a PM has already sent to you. However, please bear with me as I'm having a very tight schedule at the moment, rushing for FYP. I'll be free only early next month.

it's nothing personal for me~ like what i've mentioned in many forums, i've talked to CPA, MMU, UTAR in Jan and Feb as mentioned in these forums ->

Multimedia University, Anything related to MMU (University)
MMU vs UTAR, which one better
UTAR vs MMU, Electronic Enginnering (Engineering)
Mechanical Engineering, which University

Not that expensive, definitely less than RM 10k, just slightly a little bit more expensive than normal foundation courses.
Normal foundation courses are around RM 8k+.

I have one thing to add here my friend is from UNITEN and he showed me the lecturer performance evaluation form, its so accurate and there is no chance of anyone being monitored or blackmailed by the subject lecturer's its totally anonymous. Where as MMU's online evaluation which i did in diploma seems dangerous you never know if in real your ID is being shown whereby there are many students filling up falce details during online evaluation so that the lecturer dont blackmail them during grading.MMU should change from online to black and white so there is more chances for truth then later we can think of KPI

I wonder why you are taking an offensive stance regarding this matter. I believe there is a reason your Alpha lecturer did not reveal anything, and I also have my reason not to reveal anything further YET. A friendly question from me, you seemed to be well informed, are you a member of SRC, a current student or a former student?

edit: i was merely answering your question if i am a shareholder or top admin wink.gif

hullo! i have a friend who has received an offer from tarc college, and she is interested to apply for mmu too. the question is,
1) is there a way to get an answer from mmu ASAP?
2) she is interested with accounting. so she is asking if she still have a chance to get accepted to the course. high or low?
she is planning to apply for tarcs hostel if she fails to get an offer from mmu, and it is said that the hostel availability is based on first-come-first-served basis, so she needs an answer..

Yeah, I meant MMU's application closing date. So it is not yet over ya? Because I have started to see many new students are here in Malacca looking for accommodation and I thought it has closed. laugh.gif
