Hi there jialat. Great informative thread you started here. I was surveying for information about contact lenses as I'm considering switching to contacts after many years of using glasses.

I was wondering how much would the astig axis affect my vision as they seem to come in steps of 10° and mine is smack in the middle of a step.

Thanks!

thanks, just trying to share info with members here besides providing lens on a cheaper rate.

as long as your astigmatism is less than -0.75, then 5 degree axis difference will not caused any blur vision.

the higher the astigmatism amount, the lesser the degree difference can be tolerated.

thanks

I see... so I have a higher chance of feeling uncomfortable with the lens as mine is -1.75. Do you know of any lens that goes in steps of 5° that you can recommend?

nope, there is no toric lens in the market that runs in 5 degree step. i guess u will have to try out both + - 5 degree axis for ur toric lens to see which gives u clearer vision. thanks

Ahh that's too bad. I did manage to just find a few Coopervision disposable toric lenses that come in 5 degree steps but they don't seem to be available here. =(

hi, if u are using the yearly lens now then u should have been told how to take care of it.

for yearly lens, u need to clean it with daily cleaner everyday and soak it with protein removal tablet at least once a week.

u cant use solo care for yearly lens, not strong enough, its for monthly lens.

its ok to use different brand of tablet with another brand solution, but to get the best effect, same company product would be better. thanks

Is it any different caring for a quarterly lens compared to a monthly lens?
