hi i got several questions here.
Around 2 month ago I went to Focus Point to buy contact lens. Before I choose the lens the staff asked me for my spectacles to check the degree and she said the power is R-5.75 L-5.50 with CYL around 0.5 or 0.7 smth which I couldnt remember. She then suggested me to take normal lens R550 and L525. When I tried out the lens the vision kinda blur, and the staff said it because of my Astigmatism which causing the blured visioned especially for place expose to light, so at 1st I thought it was normal. And my mistake here is I didnt ask the staff to recheck my eyes incase of any degree increment since the last time I went for a check is around 1 year go. After several time wearing the lens, I felt the blur is too obvious till I think its not only caused by Astigmatism. I also notice that my vision when wear the spect seems like not as clear as it should be which i think due to any power increment. At the same time, I plan to buy a pair of cosmetic lens, so today I went to an optical shop (not the same previous shop) to check my eye power. The staff check my spectacle power and the weird thing is the power seems "change" which is different from the previous shop that I went . This is the reading, R-5.5 cyl -0.5 L -5.25 cyl -0.75 Then she check my eye using a machine in less than 30 seconds, and the result is more confusing for me which is: R-5.5 cyl -0.5 L-5.00 cyl -1.25. she said my right eye still maintain the same power but my left power is EITHER increase or decrease @_@ and the Astigmatism from the reading has increase. So my questions are: 1. what might cause the different reading for both shop for my spectacles power degree? 2. Is there any possible case where the optician cant determine whether my eye power has increase or decrease like the second shop? 3. My current spect seems blur currently so it most possible that my power has increased instead of decreased isnt it? 4. Can I still wear normal lens since my left Astigmatism increased to 1.25? I even planned to ordered new cosmetic lens with R-575 L-550 based on my own judgement that my power has increased due to blury vision with spect, but that eye check up confuse me now. I hope you can give me some sort of advice. And sorry for such a long post as Im trying to give as many info as possible, and Im bad in make a simple story short +_+. Thanks in advance. thanks for the answer~ Anyway, wad may caused the Astigmatism to increased drastically for 1 eye only?
And if I only wear cl once in awhile for outing or special occasion, is it ok to stick for normal lens 1st? Planning to get toric lens next time. This post has been edited by Iyreen87: Nov 15 2009, 11:00 PM |
