Must be but the old place I got is willing to offer same old pricing. Anyway at least the seller was friendly. For eye sight they just use the machine. I was expecting them to do more than just the machine.

Normally they check on top of contact lens, unless the power same like your old lens power and vision still clear. U can go back for recheck if contact lens vision not clear, thats the most accurate way of getting the lens power.

I have been using acuvue clear monthly, for like forever. Then, all shop said it has discontinued. Anyone knows and can propose similar lenses with same range of price? Tried B&L but not comfortable wearing it.

Acuvue clear has been recalled and discontinued because it allows very little oxygen to pass through the lens lead to many unhealthy eyes as people tend to overwear it for long hours.

Better lens cost much higher than acuvue clear, but its better for your corneal health.

Lens with low oxygen, Cornea becomes less clear without you notice it.

Hi jialat, I've been using Acuvue Clear for years but since they've discontinued the product, can you give me some recommendation on which brand I should switch to?

Looking for monthly use and I wear them to work at least 5 days a week, 8-9hrs a day. Dealing with computer and microscope.
My readings are 2.75 and 3.00. Curvature is 8.4 (which i think is quite small and not many brands have it?)

Thank you in advance smile.gif

Hi, i afraid none of the remaining monthly lens has 8.4 bc, you can get a pair of biofinity or miacare monthly lens to try first before getting them in box.

That's a bad news..What will happen if I wear lenses with different BC? Will it cause discomfort or fall off?

most monthly lens are 8.6 mm, difference of 0.2mm only from acuvue clear, u wont feel the curvature.

the material is different now, so u will feel its more difficult to remove after wearing long hours.

I need another brand of contact lens. My power is about 1.50 and 2.00.

My current contact lens (forgotten brand name) tends to make my eye dry and discomfort whenever i wear more than 6 hours.

Any brand to recommend for monthly?, and price?

miacare monthly clear lens not too bad, rm 50 a box, buy more for better discount. Oxygen flux is 187.5, much higher than air optix or biofinity.

I tried Miacare color daily lens but end up my eyeballs got redness, around the lens and it normally takes more than one day to go off.
Not a frequent user but just wear it for function.

Best color lens is infiniti color monthly lens, soft and very comfortable. Miacare color daily is still thicker than normal color lens.

Hi Jialat, with the risk of 3 & 9 o'clock staining and upper lid ptosis from wearing RGP lens, do you think it is better to avoid RGPs if there are no major prescription issues like high astig etc.?

3&9 o clock staining is due to poor fitting lens. Ptosis not really caused by RGP which is much thinner nowadays, mainly due to pulling the eyelids too hard after many many years lead to weakened lid muscles.

Low astig can go for soft toric lens.

There is no such lens as acuvue clear toric.

Total 1 day is very good daily lens but no astigmatism correction, no toric available.

Maximum I will wear for 12 hours.
