Currently using B&L monthly 38 but occasionally feel my eye like heat up due to dryness (though i wear it for 4 hours only, perhaps im sitting in aircond room )

would like to ask.. what lens is suitable for me coz i will be wearing it for more than 8 hours per day.

hi, u should get ur eyes checked by optometrist because there might be some inflammation on the inner side of ur eyelids, which is called papillary conjunctivitis which usually give rise the symptom u mentioned.

softlens 38 can be used for more than 8 hours but not more than 12 hours. for above 12hours wear budget lens will be air optix. for much better quality extended wear lens then try day & night. thanks

Do you have to go for trial before wearin contact lens ? Like trial , See which one suits you and stuff.

which contact lens solution is better? i have used renu before, but seems like my eyes aint very comfortable with it. i think solo care is good one. but do they all have difference anyway?

how much is the power for lens? i mean the highest power is?

solution is very much depends on wat type of lens u r using. silicone hydrogel lens best wash and soak with optifree or solocare aqua.

normal lens then just use back the same company solution, ie B&L softlens 38 then use B&L renu becoz the lens in the plastic container is soaked with respective company solution.

depends on brand and type, for example, freshkon 38 highest is till -8.00, while freshkon 58UV reaches -10.00

So you mean that Trial is not compulsory ?

soft lens usually do not need to trial, semi hard lens only need to trial fit. thanks

hi, if ur spec power is -12.00, then u need a -10.50 power contact lens.

biweekly disposable contact lens power highest is till -12.00. so far no monthly disposable lens has power more than -10.

hi, the difference in diameter is minimal, not really going to cause any major effect.

i want to ask your opinion - should i go get my eye inspected by an eye specialist once a year?

because i'm very clumsy, if i keep putting in and taking out my contact lense, i worry i damage my eyeballs (so far wear 2 days only)

wowwwwww, all 10 pages, hope my replies in it didnt bored u to sleep.

if u r above 50 then yes u need to get ur eyes check by ophthalmologist once a year to make sure there is no any pathology developing.

keep putting lens in and out of eye wont caused any major problem unless u have bad hygiene and keep scratching ur cornea while pinching ur lens.

regular check by optometrist is good enough as they can pick up any ocular health problem and refer u to eye specialist only when necessary.

Can check with you, I have been wearing glasses for about 8-9 years now, and i'm thinking to switch to wearing contact lense.
For my work nature, i need to look at the computer screen most of the time with long working hours like 12-13 hours a day.
Any suggestion?

long hours computer user tends to have dry eyes as less blinking when concentrating on computer screen, thus u will need high oxygen transmission and low water content lens. 1st timer, get air optix or acuvue oasys coz both are firm and easier to handle. thanks

I usually only wear contacts for sports. I used dailies but is thinking of wearing it on a longer time basis. However, i hv high astimagtism abt 1.5 on one eye and the other abt .75. Which lens would you recommend cos currently i buy those without astimagtism due to the fact i only wear it for abt 1-2 hours max while playing games.

if u play sport very often and need a clear vision, then stick to daily, which has both normal and toric type. chances are ur sweat flows into your eyes quite often and that will soak the lens with sweat and tears, which can lead to uncomfortable wear.

if u prefer a longer wear and seldom play sport, then u can consider oasys (2 weeks lens) for better hygiene purpose. thanks
