Any engineering students here?
I would like to ask if I fail a unit and pass the remaining 7 units for first year can I still advance to the second year?
For eg, I failed engineering dynamics but I plan to do chemical engineering in the 2nd year.

I believe you would need 48 credit points to advance to second year . If you failed engineering dynamics then you won't get the 6 credit points required from the subject .

Thats what I thought too but I went and ask a lady from the engineering department this morning and she said it was ok becuz dynamics is not a core/recommended unit for chemical engineering.
She said most likely it shouldn't be a problem if I pass the remaining 4 units for the upcoming semester to proceed to the 2nd year.
Her answer was very vague, I need some clarification here.
Thx men
