Any engineering students here?
I would like to ask if I fail a unit and pass the remaining 7 units for first year can I still advance to the second year?
For eg, I failed engineering dynamics but I plan to do chemical engineering in the 2nd year.

I believe you would need 48 credit points to advance to second year . If you failed engineering dynamics then you won't get the 6 credit points required from the subject .

o.o"
Anyways from the Offer Documents Booklet page 5
"Unless you have been formally granted exemption , you will be required to pass eight units/subjects in order to complete the first year of study - four in each semester . Each unit/subject is assigned 6 credit points so that apass in the first year will result in the accumulation of 48 credit ponts"
TBH i'm not really sure myself , you might want to ask the first year coordinator.

I'm not sure if you're referring to monash australia or the local campus here.
Anyways , i'm a student at the local campus and i'm in my third year of chem eng . All i'll say is that some of the lecturers are err...lacking tongue.gif . Of course there are good ones but some are average and there is one(or two) who i can say are outright terrible.

If you are referring to the australian campuses , from what i've heard from my friends studying there and what i've watched in the online lectures they seem to be pretty good with exceptions scattered here and there.
