any applied for transfer? the transfer for July is kinda rush

I applied.. wat u mean kinda rush? if not mistaken, application for the credit transfer fee is waived which closes next week.. either 16th or 18th..

i alry paid but mine is a conditional offer and i must go Aus to do enrolment , and when the results is out if i don't meet the requirement i need to come back to Malaysia

Anyway..Long story..

So I graduated from TARC..So applied at Monash..So for credit transfer u need those examination results with the CGPA and all.Of all the 6 semester results, I only have 5 as the last semester would have to wait..So I downloaded the 6th semester result that was on the TARC website..That result slip doesnt contain my cgpa or GPA..Because I was in a rush so I sent it along with the other necessary documents..

Two weeks passed without any calls or emails..My friend who applied as well was worried so he made a phone call as I was very busy with part time work. He asked the PSO ppl(Who are they?) and the people just said they rejected my application.My friend asked them on why never contact or send at least an email, the person replied: 'Ask him to call us'. So Monash dont inform people that they reject their application and made them worried..?

Part 2

So My friend called me and told me about it..I was very shocked and made a phone call to the PSO and they transfered my call to the Business School people.. She told me the reason I got rejected is because my CGPA was 2.61 where the minimum requirement is 2.7. The weird thing is that 2.61 is my CGPA for the 5th semester. So I asked her a few times: Is the 2.61 CGPA was the CGPA for all the six semesters? She said yes..And then I hang up the phone..

Reached back home and TARC finally sent me the last semester slip and my final CGPA is 2.83 which means I've definitely meet the minimum of the minimum requirements to be admitted to Monash..So why are they telling me my CGPA was 2.61?

I asked the girl whether is it because my last semester result does not contain the CGPA and I asked whether I can send the last semester slip that contains my final CGPA..She said no..

I dunno what else to say about this..Just felt disappointed cause of this..

I admit the people handling these stuff in Monash can be pretty screwed up at times.
Looks like you do indeed have a strong case for entering Monash just that you were shut out.

So what can I do? Submit the 6th sem slip with the CORRECT cgpa? I think I need to write a letter or something as well right..

But my friend who made the call asked the Business dept as well on how many subjects are being exempted..She replied by saying that TARC diploma is not recognized by Monash and maximum only two subjects..He was accepted but have to start from first year..Just saying what my friend told me..

As for my case, I kinda felt miserable. If my cgpa is really 2.6, then I have no choice but to accept fate la.. But my cgpa is 2.83. So I shoudlnt give up hope on Monash eh?

You can try showing them the slip with the correct CGPA and make your point that you actually DID meet the requirements.

Monash doesn't recognize TARC diploma so you might have to start over again ......

Called Monash today..THe PSo girl transferred my call to the Business Faculty staff,the name I'm not gonna mention for now..

She told me I got rejected coz of my CGPA. After that I asked her again whether is the CGPA calculated from ALL 6 sems..She still says yes..After that I told her that my real CGPA was 2.8. She asked me why I did not send that result slip that shows my real CGPA, I replied her back by saying that they never give me a single call to inform me that my 6th sem slip that I sent does not contain the CGPA.. And that the IT school that my friend applied to gave him a call, 2 WEEKS ago..!!..

The girl quickly told me to bring in the real examination slip and then hung up the phone..I was like:'WTH'. This is not a way to treat a prospective student. Now I'm wondering whether they are being prejudice against ppl from TARC. At least if she replied me properly I would still accept..

Part 2..

Moments later PSO called me and told me that my 6th sem slip does not contain the CGPA, asked me to send the real thing. This was the same thing that my friend received two weeks ago. And they called me now? WTH.. So after that I blasted the PSO like there's no tomorrow,saying how unprofessional and disappointing Monash treated me..In the end she said that she'll make sure that the application will go through something like that.

She also told me that the credit transfer thingy is done by the ppl from Sunway Campus while I was being told way back from the start that they have to send it to the one in Australia to certify..This is a big blunder and mistake man..

Sorry if I offended your uni or anything..Im gonna bring my 6th sem slip tomorrow and see how it goes..maybe they really wont recognize my TARC diploma but the IT school doing his credit transfer..

The most important thing is that they wont simply get away easily by committing this mistake..

if i were you, stop making calls and go there in person.
I would actually advise you to go straight to the business faculty building, (Building 6) and see the head of the faculty. sometimes i find some of the people there a bit, ignorant.

still remembered how one tutor of mine actually left my assignment on the table and walked off. luckily some guy from the next class called me and told me it was there.
went to find the unit director straight and bang kau the tutor on it. damn irresponsible of him to leave it behind when he told me to put it there on the table.

Yea..going to bang them..But to bang the head of the faculty a..haha..That's gonna be interesting.. They should at least apologize for such a big big blunder right?

don't bang the head la. just go there and explain your problem. just inform her/him how incompetent the staff are. plus, u get to do things direct. straight talk to the head, kautim everything once and for all.

Haha..Yea..Aih..Never expected Monash to do such a thing to me..But is Business really that strict until dont recognize TARC diploma? Even my friend applied to the IT faculty in Monash at least got exempted for one semester..So nice la..

depends on the degree i suppose.
cause maybe the subjects u did in TARC are not related to those in monash business
you don't expect them to give u exemption for something you didn't do right?
i guess they have a reasonable cause for doing it

Maybe..But if its like 100 percent not related..I wont be here right? Haha...

Any1 staying in Sun-U Residence? How far is it from Monash University Sunway Campus? Do they have a bus shuttle?

I agree with MoNny that you should have went there in person instead. Whenever it comes to things like this, never settle them over the phone. Another alternative would be to email because everything will be in black and white.

Back when I was transferring from Business to Pharmacy, I went there everyday to check and make sure that my transfer/appeal letter was going the right direction. Thankfully, 2 working days later I got a confirmed call from the Pharmacy faculty saying that I got accepted and made it just in time for their orientation...

its only a 5 minute walk. 10 if u take your time. its not that far. just make sure you have an umbrella for the rainy days.

btw, Eisenmeteor, i assumed u went to monash today. how did it go?

Scolded them and all..But in the end the Business Faculty wont accept my diploma, or any other diplomas from other places..They consider it as Year 11 of something..Dunno la..They dont even bother to look at my syllabus at all.Related or not also no use..

But my friend applied for IT degree..he got exempted for Year 1..Damn..

Anyway thanks for the advice..And its probably my last post on this thread..

Would really loved to study at Monash..But oh well..U cant always get anything that you want..
