ok...here's the prob....

i'm trying to play a video which is in avi format...

i tried to load it up through a usb stick but sadly i'm prompted to update my media firmware(or something like that)

so yeah..i search the internet...and trust me i tried EVERYTHING... (including using my laptop and other stuffs)

before you guys ask 'why dont you just update your 360?'

well i'm hesitating. why you ask?

well my 360 is modded. MIND YOU i buy original game ok! (ok..well most of it)

so can what do you guys think? is it ok to update the xbox?

or will it brick when i do that?

Well,updating your Xbox is the only way to go.
But even if you update it,it will get banned immediately when you go online.
And you need to be online to download the codec to play AVI files.

So in short terms,no.You can't do it.You need to have an unmodded Xbox.

1. update & problem solved, if modded then you risk getting ban. Nothing more you can do about it.
