Yeah, I got UTeM! It's Robotic and Automation Engineering, so FKP has a new student. smile.gif

BTW, I check with the manual, which mentions something about 'Borang OCR UTeM'. What's that? Where can I get it? My Google-fu fails to find anything. sad.gif

And glad to hear that FKP (finally) has a new home. Is that mean I will be there for the coming semester?

Also, is there any documents and verified copies that I need to bring along?

asc825: Hi! You're entering the same U with me! Wondering what course you get... I'm a new student. smile.gif

Well I'm not entirely sure what they really wanted for documents (damn, where's that Borang OCR?), using the documents I gotten from USM (yes, I'm one of the poor guys who get the nasty surprise that is USM admission result tongue.gif), plus information from the manual, it's safe to say to bring the original and verified copies of the following documents:

1. IC
2. Sijil Lahir
3. Sijil SPM
4. Sijil/slip keputusan STPM
5. Slip keputusan MUET

You can get your copies verified by your old school's office. smile.gif

You will be register at the Complex Sukan in the main campus, and clothes to wear can be found in the manual. Please remember to download it and print it for your use.

And do bring some foods. If I'm not reading anything wrong in this thread, you will not regret doing so.

jimmywalker: Somewhere in the new campus, I think. We're told to gather in the sport complex in the new campus, so the location shouldn't be far from there. smile.gif

Boring > hellish. LOL. tongue.gif

Really, I mean it. Hearing those crazy and evil stories of other uni's orientation week, I'm happy that UTeM's orientation will only be described as 'boring'. laugh.gif

Yeah, speaking of computer, does UTeM provides any internet services? I don't really have a laptop, and moving my entire PC to there just sounds stupid for some reasons. tongue.gif

Where can i get the UTeM borang OCR?
*
Short answer: Don't know.

Long answer: I think the Borang OCR will be in the hard copy letter they're going to send to your home. Unfortunately, I don't receive the letter yet, and hopefully they will arrive sooner. 28 Jun is getting closer...

1. Obviously, or why they even bother torturing you and school admins for something that's not important? tongue.gif

2. Basically, it will be 'boring', according to the senior. Expect lots of lecture and some sports during evening. smile.gif

3. I'm not sure if we have off day in Saturday, so don't be surprised if it isn't.

BTW, the application site has uploaded 2 new documents, 1 for the clothing codes, 1 for the plan to the main campus (so you won't get lost). Remember to download it for your use. wink.gif

EDIT: The 2 documents is the same that you found in the manual, so it's pointless downloads. sad.gif

Now, if they upload that Borang OCR...

We will kick your a** and flush you down into toilet bowl.

Well, nothing major will happen if you're late for 1 day or two, but it's not recommended. The orientation week is not just for us the new student, but also functions as extra time for school admins to sort out official things for us within one week, including PTPTN, Kad Matrik, hostel allocations, etc. Your late report will gonna disrupt the work flow, and definitely not a good way to introduce yourself as a new student if you have no legitimate reasons to be late. So be punctual and go to the Sport Complex at the time specified at your Surat Tawaran if you can.

And FTMK should be in the new campus now, last time I heard. We the FKP are one of the last faculties to move to the new one.

Glad to hear that, Reign! The Orientation Week's timetable has a lot of similarity of that with NS/PLKN. I should be fine then. smile.gif

See you guys (and gals) tomorrow! UTeM, here I come...

Like Stupidbro said, no need to worry too much about the subject first, do get yourself familiar with the environment and lifestyle of uni for the first few weeks. smile.gif

yeah...sila tunjuk ajar... smile.gif  smile.gif
it is hard course??
what sem you now?
it is full english?
*
I will be second year for next sem. smile.gif

Generally, the course's difficulty is above-average, and there are some killer subjects that most have problems with, like programming and some physics subjects, but then, engineering is never easy to begin with. You will need your math skill most of the times, and it won't hurt if you're familiar with mechanical physics, but for now, just relax and focus on surviving the orientation week (and world cup final XD), which will be quite exhausting. smile.gif

Most subjects in uni are teach in English, as you will find out when you get your textbooks and lecture notes, however there are some compulsory subjects, like Tamadun Islam and Tamadun Asia, are in BM, and third language classes (compulsory subjects where you learned a new language, such as Japanese) are of course not in English. One major factor is the lecturer: some will give lectures in full English, although most will be in BM and English.
