for example, bios will tell you the cpu temperature is 55C,but in windows, speedfan or coretemp will give you both cores' readings, which are like 40-45C.
Though, speedfan has another temperature reading says "Temp2"which i have no idea what's that, but i believe it has the same reading as the bios "cpu temperature",the 55C one. So,which is the real processor temperature?

btw,my rig is as below

e2140
965p-ds3 gigabyte
micron d9 1gb x 2 ddr2 800
msi 8500gt 256mb

hey bro, just read the CPU temperature smile.gif
BIOS temps should be more accurate but while in BIOS your CPU load is not 0% hence temperature will be higher than the reported 40-45 degrees

in any case, the 40-45 degrees is the correct temp of your proc smile.gif

if that's the case, what's the "Temp2" in speedfan? It increases as the CPU load goes up,full load is about 76 - 78C.

i just did some modification to make my cpu fan less noisy, the core0 and core1 are about 78C full load, and the "temp2" reports a shocking 93C!!i'm getting worried what that really is.

exactly how accurate is EVEREST ?
cause using CoreTemp and hardware monitor, my temperature is around 43C idle
using EVEREST and BIOS is 29C only .
i kinda sure dat after OCed my proc , it wont even stay at 29C on watercooling .
its just too low .
and i've read somewhere dat its actually somewhere around d temp +15C for d real temperature .

so yeah i really think dat most accurate is coretemp and hardware monitor .

1 noob question here.... is there any difference between temp shown in bios and the one in my mobo software (such as Easy Tune....)?

bios always show da real temp... some sofware calculate temp based on CPU load

but my BIOS stated 29C under idle .
which is too low for an OCed 50% proc .

It really depends because I've had my overclocked processor running 1.48V at around 26C idle on a cold air cond room. Your ambient temp would play a role but nevertheless, we're more concerned about load temps, not idle temps.

well yeah .
28C on idle 40 on load .
its low rite .
my ambient temperature should be good .
casing fitted with 7 fans in total .
really disperse heat nicely .
i dont even feel any heat coming out of my casing .
d flow is very nice .

im using liquid cooling >.<"
but seriously kinda weird to get this reading .
kinda low even if i dont OC my proc .

without OC reading = 25C
wif OC 50% reading = 28C

kinda nice for increment of 3C only after OCed .
