Hi all,

Knowing the full potential and prospects as a chef, do you want to be one?

Well, before jumping straight onto the bandwagon, Berjaya University College of Hospitality [Berjaya UCH] will be giving everyone an opportunity to learn how to prepare simple dishes such as pasta and salad in its upcoming open days over two weekends - Mar 21 to 22 and Mar 28 to 29. All guests are invited to experience hands-on workshop ranging from the preparation of savory and dessert pasta, yogurt making and salad tossing. Besides that, for wine lover, you could learn about the wine aroma sensing. For the coffee lover, Berjaya UCH is collaborating with Starbucks and offered coffee artistry that talks about the history of coffee, coffee making and ways to enjoy coffee.

Another interesting skills probably you would learn is the housekeeping of which could be used to tidy up our bedrooms.

Some background on the Berjaya UCH. It is an education arm of Berjaya Group. It was established in response to an exclusive invitation by the Ministry of Higher Education to Berjaya Corporation to set up a niche institution of higher learning focused on hospitality, tourism and services management.

The campus is equipped with state-of-art facilities that are designed for look, feel and service of a five-star hotel - from reception, to fully operational kitchens, gourmet cafe and fine dining restaurant, resource centres and among others.

My personal experience in the campus is that - it feels and looks more like a hotel than a campus.

So put it in your calendar, see you there!

Actually there are few sessions on culinary demonstration. I think it is at 10am and 3pm for the foreign chefs, the rest of demo classes are from 9am to 6pm.

Hope this helps...

:-)
