i kena just now, langsung nomood play, ask him to find other and appologies.....

cant say anything, his far more superior then me........

just wta, u guys taunt yr opponent ????
in what condition???
i nv taunt my opponent once no matter how.....coz i feel bad....
how u guys feel?

To me, taunts are just downright rude and unprofessional. It's simply scrubbish behaviour - unless it's a game played among friends. Plus, win or lose, chances of the opp kicking me out of the lobby / disconnecting in the middle of the match will increase! You know how difficult-lah sometimes it gets, to connect successfully to a Ranked or Player match over PSN.

You can cancel taunts in SF4 after the first few frames, to bait your enemy e.g. taunt > anti-air or Ultra - but I still fail to see it as part of the strategy. It simply reflects one's arrogance. The only exception is Dan, where IIANM makes him jump higher (done in air) or combo into Ultra (heavy punch > Taunt Super > cancel to Ultra). But I like Vega's claw and mask removal though!

One good game where taunts are part of the gameplay is 3rd Strike (e.g. Q's defence, Makoto/Alex's offence).

i think you are taking the taunting too seriously.
it's in the game, it's meant to be used.
if you over react to it and have a lousier game, it just means that you are immature, emotion wise.
taunts don't do no damage, just ignore it.
it's for fun!

Sifu, the reason I don't taunt is that it will be a priceless moment for my opp when he trashes me up later on! Backfire! smile.gif

hahaha true also.
the reason i DUN do taunts is becoz i already have my hands full trying to land blows.
no time to press the taunt buttons!

If I am not mistaken, Fel Long's taunt #5 ducks under projectiles - and one of Sakura's also. Dhalsim's float taunts goes over low attacks eg. sweeps. Zangief's taunt > super/ultra is a standing 720 too. I dare not taunt my opp coz I'm afraid he'll disconnect - whether I win or not biggrin.gif

Hey congrats on your new 40 incher. Your bro just duly announced to this forum so enjoy watching Sakura's fwd+MK smile.gif

If you have SFHD, damn the colors are really brought out to life on a screen this size. Very beautiful.

Added on March 24, 2009, 1:31 amI'm sure TristanX's is high, plenty of testimonies of people of him winning 20-1 etc etc.

By the way, I don't think win ratios paint an accurate picture on the player's level of game competency. Closest would be BPs in ranked matches - but then again the algorithm is so scr*wed up. E.g. when you reach 3500-4000 BPs and fight vs a 2000-odd BP player you lose 50-80+ BPs but if win, you get 1-5 sad.gif

And I'm saying this because a 2000-odd BP player is considered good already, and he has a fair chance of winning. This makes it extremely hard for the higher BP players to climb up. As for those top 5 people in PSN, damn they aren't going to move. I don't think they will ever risk fighting anyone!

Sanwa Parts Tumpang (closing date: 1st to 2nd April 2009)

As much as I would like to help, I actually have a career to focus on hence I prefer if this tumpang takes minimal effort to conduct. Key rules:

1) I may not reply to posts/PMs in a timely manner, or not at all - if I deem your message irrelevant. So please be sensible and perform your own research before asking questions which can be answered by simply googling or scanning through the Tech Talk section of the shoryuken.com forums, or any other resources.

2) My price is mandate, aka FIRM. Do not ask for best price or any discounts. Calling me 'bro' does not give you any privileges, nor will open me up for any additional favours.

3) Requests are subject to availability and subject to my descretion, convenience and preference. This may seem unfair to some, but this is a personal order of mine and there are shipping limitations.

4) I reserve the right to modify or delete this post anytime, as I see fit. We play by my rules, as I do NOT want things to get complicated and end up cancelling this order.

QUOTE
What are Sanwa parts used for?
Sanwa is the leading arcade parts manufacturer in Japan, hence most consider them to be the best in the world. Unless you prefer American-style Happ parts. Their competitor is Seimetsu and they produce equally good and stylish parts as well. It's all up to one's preference. My tumpang is ONLY for Sanwa parts, though I would like to have Seimetsu in future.

What can I order?
Only common Sanwa components which fit in your custom stick / HORI Real Arcade Pro (RAP) / Mad Catz SE like:
• buttons (OBSF-30 snap-ins, OBSN-30 screw-ins) - of 30mm (normal) and 24mm (start/select) variety.
• button plugs (OBSM-30 or OBSM-24)
• joysticks (JLF-TP8Y-SK so far, comes with square restrictor gate by default)
• ball/bat tops (LB-35~lollypop preferably, which works on standard JLF sticks. The LB-30-N~baseballbat will need a separate adapter)
• gate restrictors (GT-Y octagonal restrictor plate. The JLF on your HORI RAP3 sticks are fitted with the square gates by default)

Is the 8-way (octagonal) gate for me?
Most people have the impression that 8-way will be better in executing moves but in reality you may find it harder due to having less precise control at the diagonal corners e.g. jump straight up to avoid fireball -> jump forward instead -> eat shoryuken

How can I order?
1) Research for your preferred parts e.g. http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/ or http://www.akihabarashop.jp/

2) Conduct further research at http://forums.shoryuken.com/forumdisplay.php?f=177 if needed, carefully. Please try your best not to ask me as I really can't respond to too many PMs.

3) Give me the parts' MODEL and preferered COLOUR, followed by NEXT CHOICE OF COLOUR

4) I will then calculate according to the price.

How much will this cost me?

1) Depending on the forex rate, but payments will be through my Maybank2u account, in RM

2) Benchmarks so you get the rough idea (as per 31/03/2009)

1.00 USD = 3.64557 MYR
1.00 EUR = 4.85012 MYR
200.00 JPY = 7.40604 MYR

3) All price excludes shipping:

• Sanwa OBSF-30 / OBSN-30 Pushbutton = RM12
• Sanwa OBSF-24 / OBSN-24 Pushbutton = RM10
• Sanwa OBSM Series 24/30mm Hole Plug = RM7
• Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate = RM20
• Sanwa GT-8N 4/8-Way Restrictor Plate = RM20
• Sanwa Joystick Adapter = RM2
• Sanwa LB-35 Joystick Ball Top = RM24
• Sanwa JLF-TP8Y-SK Ball Handle Joystick, stock square gate = RM85

Shipping will be shared, and will be dependent on the size of this single order I am making. Once the items arrive, I will designate a common meeting place in either KL or PJ. I will also Poslaju to outstation buyers, at the price of the actual postage.
I will reply to PMs the best as I can. I will need to submit the order ASAP. Thanks.

I know I should be doing this in the Garage Sale section, but since I heard you guy's been saying how your Sixaxis' been wearing out. I'm gonna try my luck. Anyone wanna dispose (I'll pay lah, don't worry) their Sixaxis pads?

I'm looking for one to start my project. Any colour will do and the condition of the buttons and all doesn't matter. Just make sure it wasn't dropped into water before! LOL! Let me know ya. Cheers.

DS3 is also acceptable, for your project. As long the pad has a 20-position connector (FFC connector) wink.gif

Story time!

Just sharing some stuff here and affirming my strong support for real-life player matches instead of online. Aside from rage-quitters, there's kids like him too.

It all started with me fishing for the remaining nonsense icons and titles to achieve the 'Title Master' and 'Icon Master' trophies, to simply get Platinum and be over with it. For that I had to get a few more wins by Super finishes and a timeout, hence I was scouting for random games in Player matches.

For the final few matches I met 'nuttahzx'. I used Viper, then Rufus followed by Sagat while he used Honda, Rufus and Abel. I was winning mostly though he put up an excellent fight. I'm not a person who give a damn about scores or winning as finding good and sporting players are items I seek. Losing is part of the improvement process, right?

In the last Abel vs Sagat game, in one round I got careless and ate an Ultra after a mid-screen Tiger Shot. Hence I became more careful and tried to get in close. I guess he didn't like being up close and personal with Sagat so he changed his style to keeping distance, and only seemed eager to land another Ultra. No idiot would fall for that again so I just played his game and tried mixing in QCF motions with my character. He did the same until time just ran out, not coming in close to me at all though I had more health.

I got what I wanted (final trophy) and it was 5am so I sent him a message. This was sincerely to thank him but with a touch of sarcasm to highlight his playing ways:
Attached Image

He replied:
Attached Image

On the contrary I was rushing him down all the while with all characters so I replied:
Attached Image
Attached Image

I thought he was still a good player to add, especially when the line was good. I hated people who thinks winning is everything so I also constructed my reply to indicate what kind of person I am, at the same time complementing him:
Attached Image

His final reply before I set him into my ignore list:
Attached Image
Attached Image

Anyone having this person in their list? He could be from this region e.g. Malaysia, Singapore or even Thailand - as I didn't really experienced any smoothness in other games with Japan, Korean or Hongkie players.

He should be staying nearby. Well, you should beat the crap out of him again using your best. Some people who uses strong characters to play to win. It's his fault getting himself stuck with one strategy. Defensive play waste a lot of time and it's boring.
*
QUOTE(Darkstalker @ Apr 21 2009, 06:17 AM)
If I were you I'd totally play him again, and do exactly what he does.  Just to screw around.
How come I only get ragequitters?  I never get flaming people. sad.gif  I'll try adding him later.  I'll say that I heard he was good or something.
*
It was around 5am and I needed sleep though it was a weekend. Had probably 7hrs of matches due to trophy-whoring and time is a luxury for me. I don't have any beef with him and was just dissapointed a player of his level would have the mentality of a garbage can lid (no offence to garbage can lids).

DS, he probably had a bad day (or morning) or something.

QUOTE(leongteng5 @ Apr 21 2009, 02:35 AM)
Its not wrong to stick on the defensive, it's just a playstyle. Some characters need to actually, like Dhalsim and Gouki, though characters like Sagat can go either way. Some find it boring but ironically I find these guys more fun to play with. I like finding ways of getting in and breaking their illusion of being untouchable smile.gif

If you're fed up of this tactic you can use it too. Use your offensive moves at the start and put in the hurt, create a sizable health difference between you and him. Then stay your corner and wait for the timer to run. He has no choice but to come at you now. Give him a taste of his own medicine!
*
How true. I really like how players like Kindevu, even Justin (Rufus), Joe (Viper) and needless to say, Daigo, breaks through Iyo's defense. Very good reference matches. I remember you, Leong - from Alan's name list that day in Outpost - though I don't know why you didn't stay which was a waste as you had a really good Gief, but I'm sure you had your reasons smile.gif

Rawfish.. Are you the Abel that beat me that day? Those few matches were awesome..

I really wanted nothing more than to have more matches with you guys, especially when my brother said there was a good viper there that I missed that was itching to challenge me! Never mind.. there's always a next time! That Viper.. if you're out there, add me. I'll definitely challenge you later in the weekend if luck permits.

As Mike shared, Eddy won. I was the Rufus/Sagat player (we played once). I guess your brother was the one who used Ken?

To everyone:Is anybody else besides mikeeeee on Izzi? My friend Freddy (PSN = virus708) uses P1 and he reported good connections with Izzi users. Please do add him! FYI playing him is like buy 1 free 4 coz sometimes there will be multiple guys at his shop taking turns on the console. You will get to fight chars like Blanka, Dhalsim, Akuma, Gief, Abel, Cammy, Guile, Ryu, Ken, Sagat.. by Freddy himself (3rd placed guy in the Sony Tourney / Hau Sui (Saliva) / Eddy (mini tourney champ) / Kenneth (Sony Tourney champ) / TristanX (Sony Tourney 1st runner up) so you can definitely have a wholesome experience - just like eating Gardenia bread!

Please feel free to add me too: rawfish_us thanks! smile.gif

Just wanted to share an interesting thread on 'priority linking' technique discussion over on the SRK forums.

http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=186686

It's similar to the piano technique for getting more inputs when doing a special move, but this is specifically applied to normal move links. It's basically pressing 2 buttons ALMOST at the same time so that the game will register the stronger input twice in 1 frame. Handy for connecting those links with a 1 frame window.

Good stuff!
*
senzr, this caught my attention as well. As per the replies in that thread, perhaps this excellent discovery stemmed from attempts to discover the Japanese walking raging demon trick.

Imagine being able to do piano-like moves without EX moves coming out. I dedicate my tonight to beer and pizza in the Training Room with boring-ass toilet tiles! I wonder if it'll make Sagat's Fake Kick, or Viper/ELF's cancel strings easier...!

Most gurus here have already answered questions about the sticks, lemme share my input:

• Phyurix: on the other hand the Westerners designed it following the official SF4 Taito Vewlix cabinet panel found in Japanese arcades. So these are what the Japanese are using, down to the stick, buttons and button layout. And you are right about the price - costs a bomb and I will later on comment on the experience!

• Rockfire PS2 to USB adapter: this is what I am using now, and there's no visible input lag.

• The TE uses the same Sanwa JLF stick as the HORI RAP3. The 2 main similarities between them, which comes to mind, are the buttons and stick. TE has a cord storage compartment behind, lock mode for the turbo buttons, convenient placing of Home and Start buttons (at the back) to prevent accidental presses when mashing (= instant disqualification in US tourneys), exact button layout/panel design as the Vewlix, removable legs to enable table mounting via screw, etc.

• The Virtua Stick High Grade (VSHG) has been discontinued by SEGA. Only option is eBay where a lot of people are also looking to obtain one. Solid piece of stick and I personally prefer it over the HRAP3 for non-Tekken games alone

• senzr: nice weapon of choice there. Not to sound anal but the 'SA' = SAnwa Edition. HORI names their sticks this way. So 'SE' = SEimitsu Edition. I failed. That sounded anal of me smile.gif

• Eddy: Nice deal. You can get 2 HRAP3s with a TE smile.gif Actually it's true the US buttons are better and more responsive than Japanese counterparts. HORI proprietary nonetheless, still good. Oh yeah.... DAMNIT Eddy congratulations THE STICK!

It detects it as Player 1 automatically. But some of the buttons are totally off (need to re-map), fixable at the buttons config menu.

Hi danger46, I have PM'd you the link to my post which lists myself and the people I play with - hope you can update, thank you.

As a suggestion, you may want:
1) to advise the need for people to PM you, to have their PSN IDs listed in the first post itself
2) to trim the list by inserting the SPOILER tag.
3) to trim or remove the quoted players' tips as some may be inaccurate and may lead to the wrong direction, even mine. Some need not even need referencing, as they only represent the contributor's opinion

neoGAF has excellent contributors and gaming threads, one good example would be:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350974

But it's needless to adopt their style and content as you can simply reference these external links in a dedicated section for people to browse, research and learn by themselves (just provide credit where it's due):
http://forums.shoryuken.com/forumdisplay.php?f=241
http://www.capcom-unity.com/street_fighter...reet_Fighter_IV
http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/jul/0...hints-and-tips/

This way, the thread can run almost by itself with little upkeeping effort.

Championship Mode DLC should be made available to us on Saturday (US has 5 different timezones). I am getting up early for this!

Personally I prefer the XBOX360 versions as you will be able to see the player's inputs in replays. Excellent feature when it comes to knowing how that walking instant raging demon is being performed smile.gif

rawfish - are you still bulk order in the Sanwa parts ?

Stock for Japanese HRAP3s may be coming in in 2 weeks or less. You will hear it from me or others here.

I've decided to go against Sanwa and opting in for Seimitsu. It was either one but not both, to avoid complications. I will compile the inventory and costing (hopefully) by this weekend. Meanwhile, if interested you can go to lizardlick.com or akihabarashop.jp to see what you want.

It will be done in perhaps within a week's time, all-in-all once i get all the orders sorted out - most of us are awaiting for our salary first.

Locally and post-Championship update, I find Network Battle searches to have better accuracy with faster results. Data packet routing must have been improved, as I get very fewer dead-end results, like lobbies which are no longer vacant/available, players with Fight Request ON doing something else, ping timeout, etc. That is why I receive lesser 'unable to connect' messages. I could even find players with green 5/5 bars now.

The only reason I can think of, on why you still find people with 1 or 0 network strength, is simply because there's NO ONE else within range that fits the needed condition (e.g. within the same Championship rank/position example: "G3-A, FINALS", ping-timeout, low latency, longer trace route, etc) - and those 0/1 guys are "what's left/available". Doesn't take a genius to notice this.

Having said that, ISP line optimization is crucial! Hope everyone here who wish to have a decent, lag/minimal lag experience, do a bit of homework and port-forward their modem/router, and find the optimal IP range to use (mine's 60.48.xx.xx - i avoid 1xx.xxx.xxx.xxx).

Remember that if you are lagging, the other player is most likely experiencing the same - or worse. Having a bit of gentlemen courtesy shows your sportsmanship and will definitely get you further.

lol@arguments over spelling.

its OYAJI btw(as far as spelling concerned). im confident 200% its not oyachi.

im studying engineering in japan(in japanese too) and i speak both formal japanese and slangs.

as for meanings, it can mean anything from old man to father (its commonly used for father though)
*
Since we're all trolling here - I was taught by one of my Japanese business partners this word once (we were discussing on mamasans, and I was asking him how to say "who's your daddy" smile.gif), and he made it sound phonetically as 'oyachi' - I could not bother with the spelling but it was how it sounded off his tongue.

Oyaji may sound 'Oya-gee' a bit if I were to read it but that's my retard trolling self here, but if that's correct - fine.

It may be the same as teaching in Cantonese "ti* nia ma ke chao ha*" vs "di* nia ma ga chao ha*". I prefer the more celebrated former smile.gif
