I'm thinking of fitting an extractor...without the exhaust, dun wan noise from rear...attract police only. Will it have any difference on my 1.3cc Wira?

same here, i read quite a lot from the forums so far, and it seems that the extractor is the part that is most important in the entire exhaust setup. your 1.3 and mine 1.5 share the same extractor type  brows.gif  i'm planning to get powerzone's 4-2-1 extractor, they quoted me RM400 (can add RM50 for installation). what do you have in mind so far? Same as you, i prefer quiet exhaust sounds, but i want some "bass" tho when i really tekan. most seems to suggest i add a centre bullet to muffle the sound further, and... as an extra, use an s-flow muffler at the end for further sound dampening. but right now, due to budget, maybe change only extractor...dunno will how loud lei... any bros here got info to share if i change only extractor? sound wise? FC wise? performance gained wise? please share oh!

400 bucks? I see in garage sale...Rm130 only sweat.gif

anyway, the powerzone is properly tuned for 4G13/15 that's why costly. but i've heard of only good feedback so far for the powerzone. some say hotbits also the same, but claimed that hotbits may crack if overheat (hotbits more expensive RM460!). i prefer go for proven/tested ones la, coz have read horror stories of cap ayam one which doesn't add performance, and sometimes even worse increase FC compared to stock - if gain power nevermind, but tis one, no gain, but add FC, wth!
*
yea, I remember someone else in the past complaining about increase in FC after changing exhaust. Isolated cases I guess.

Added on April 3, 2009, 4:36 pmjust asked kweng84...I'm sure you know him in Automotive Garage...if change extractor alone will mostly increase FC. I'm guessing its because it provides better flow of the engine power...no waste when driving, uphill or sth.

improve exhaust flow doesnt increase FC... not properly setup exhaust will cause bad FC... wrong AFR tuning will also cause bad FC... as i said previously, changing extractor alone wont yield absolute improvement... worse, wrong combination with ur midbox, muffler and piping will cause unwanted bottleneck and exhaust turbulance inside the piping, causing worse fuel consumption....
*
e-flow was just a joke tongue.gif

if I install only the extractor...use standard midbox, piping & all at the rear...will that cause unwanted bottleneck?

just fixed the extractor and mid box...mid box that guy recommend to fix on to avoid some spooling or sth, I didn't really understand. Total RM280...4-2-1 setup. 1st to 3rd gear now really smooth, 4th & 5th gear kinda the same. Before this, I drive about 75-80kmph smoothly, now can go 100 very smoothly...maybe more, didn't test that much. Best part is he give 3 year warranty biggrin.gif that was unexpected

where did u fix ur exhaust?
*
Kota Damansara, a shop facing the main road. There was an S2000 at the shop when I was there. Very nice.
Further tested just now...wow, big difference. No more jerking when carrying passengers and bring on the wrong gear...just smooth sailing. Not really giving more power, just smooth sail. Gotta hold back the throttle a bit since its so easy to go past the speed limit now.

I wouldn't bother about that at all. Besides being illegal now, HID lights are simply a bother to other drivers. If I can't see the road, high beam a while. You don't realize this but we're more dependent on the street light rather than our headlights. Try driving with small and big light...see if there's any difference on a brightly lit street. That's why some cars don't realize they're using small light until after they reach home (me laugh.gif)

*
you wanna change extractor or exhaust? I didn't change the exhaust at all...
anyway its up to you also...coz since I changed the extractor, my FC increase from 16cents/km to 16.5cents/km icon_question.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
main throttle too much this weekend, so fun now laugh.gif
gotta test full tank if its eating more petrol...then may need to readjust fuel mixture or sth.

eh... i'm those considerate type of driver la... i make sure my headlamps are pointed to the ground, not too high... just that day adjusted them properly. coz i also cannot tahan if incoming cars shine their lights at my eyes  shocking.gif  i think usual problems with HID users is they point the light too far ahead - thus the angle too high and blind other drivers lor... also, i know what u mean about most drivers rely on street lamps, but... the place i live, a bit kampung/hill area, its either no streetlights, or they are so old and dim so cannot rely on them lar.. else i sure masuk longkang di... T_T

this one, legal bor? also, significant increase in brightness proven ah??? @_@
*
I'm not saying you're not considerate, just that having the lights itself may already be 'harmful' to others. Whether its pointed to the ground or up...effects are pretty similar. And yes, those pointing too high are bloody farking idiots...its like driving high beam with HID all the way doh.gif Your kampung area...you sure HID lights is the only & best solution?

cheann's idea is a good one. You're not using HID, just making the current yellow light a little more powerful.
